Yeah and you just go ahead with those stats and believe what you want. We have had problems with openers, somehting which is very crucial, if you must be told so. Seems any numbers will convince you outright.

Isn't that obvious? And Australia have played Zimbabwe and Bangladesh at home!

Bias will be there in competitive sport like this esp. when such a series is round the corner. And oh holier than thou being, if something makes you laugh can you please point it out rather than hiding and backstabbing.

Sometimes we had openers who fell quickly exposing the middle order to the new ball. Ponting and the rest have always had a cosy platform to freely play shots and score briskly. But off-late our openers have been better, giving the middle order a better chance to show what they're made of. And...

Unfortunately we are only trying to compare the recent batting orders here. :) Australia batted very well too, but India were better.

That's where you're wrong I never said they are better, I only said the Australian openers aren't so far ahead of the Indians. And this theory does have some logic.

Then what's all this about Australia doing well on all surfaces? India batted well in Australia too. Yeah but the result shows that India ultimately batted better.

Yeah but this pair have a lot of potential as well. The move to get Sehwag to open has worked wonders and looking at Sehwag's career now, you ca only see big things for him. Yuvraj has proven to be a cool and reliable player in ODI's and has had a great start to tests, he also has a lot of...

The last time India were in such deep trouble, Yuvraj scored a ton and Pathan hung around to make 49. So India are capable of surviving collapses too.

Unfamiliar conditions? McGrath, Gillespie and Warne were fairly experienced in indian conditions. And Warne is supposed to be such a great spinner in conditions that favour him so much. And you yourself have admitted in this post that India batted better, 4 innings to 2. We had a poor attack in...

India played better cricket than Australia. And you conveniently ignore 2001 where we won 2-1 and they had a better bowling attack, a full strength bowling attack.

Then what are you talking bout? Balaji can hang around longer than Mcgrath for your info.

Sehwag is havig a fantastic career so far, read my sig. Yuvraj has the talent and attitude to be a reliable test opener.

So remember to read the entire post first, I clearly outlined the two lower orders.

Then how do you explain India having a better recent Track record head to head against Australia? And that too when the bowling was not as good.
  16. chicane

    flair in batting

With Sehwag and Yuvraj(if he comes good), I don't see how the Australian openers are far ahead.

For those who are interested in making a sensible comparison of the batting strength, the line ends at 7. And we got Pathan in the lower order, who matches Warne. Khan can slog as well as Lee and both Kumble and Gillespie can hang around. Balaji can slog better than McGrath.

You're talking like you've been stranded in some deserted Island all along.

    Read the brackets dear.

What's absolutely ridiculous? Except for the second opening slot, which is unstable ATM. And on what basis are you so confidently saying Langer is better than Yuvraj? If he lives up to expectations then the egg will be on your face, because his talent is clear.
