India going down by losing their nerves? Fitst the run-out opportunities, now the rather unnecessary airshot....

That's not the word.... It's pretty easy to spot it's inside the line.... Just a rather foolish mistake by the umpire.

And the pirze for no-surprise-at-all goes to the 3rd umpire...... What a ridiculous review......

Indeed! Can't wish for more going into the last 10 overs with a chasable target, but just the 4 wickets remaining.

Though Kohli's fitness is probably better than requied, Jadhav's seems to be not up to professional standards.

Can't all of you see that, as long as Kohli is in, India are still favourites?

Score was 67/1 after 10 & 235/4 after 40. At that time, I was thinking England had possibly missed out a bit (not too much though) in the middle overs. It's fair to say India lost the plot in the last 10 overs.

Jasper Bumstra would be a perfectly normal Dutch (Frisian actually) name.

I guess the no ball and free hit are enough punishment, as long as the deliveries are not that threatening.

Sticking to a plan that doesn't work. One of the most made mistakes in sports generally.

Was that really a brilliant ball by Jadeja? Judgement by result? He did put the pressure up. So in that sense, it was good bowling. But still nothing to get too excited about, IMHO.

So, what's a par score here?

    Hah! Roy still there!

Interesting point made by the commentators. The umpire shouldn't take the usual position to judge run-outs, as he is blocking the camera.

Probably. I guess my liking of Bell is more due to the aesthetics. Not per se the same as technique.

Yeah, but judging from his technique, he should average closer to 50 or even 50+. Maybe my view is a bit clouded, since I've always been somewhat of a Bell-fan. Anyway, in test cricket, shot selection and concentration are probably just as important as talent and technique.

I can't think of anyone. Yet, there are more batsmen with aesthetically pleasing techniques, lacking a great average. Ian Bell comes to mind. And there are those who do things the opposite way. Shiv Chanderpaul, to name one.

I haven't been able too much og this test, so I can't figure out what might bw obvious: Why did SL change keepers halfway?

Hmmmm, Mathews bowling himself with the new ball........ Getting overexcited? Steyn won't last forever. And it seems a bit odd to say the other three are in the league of Roberts, Holding & Garner (assuming Steyn is their MM). Otherwise, I do agree going in with 4 paceman might me a good...

The declaration was spot on, from my neutral circket fan's point of view! From FdP's point of view, is seemed a bit too early. Anyway, form where this test is now, it seems SL have a chance, whereas we all know they don't. It would be great to be proven wrong though.
