Well that turned and bounced, where did that come from? Sympathy for the batsman who can't have been expecting that....

I may revisit this view - last 30 minutes Shan has looked in perfect form... which is probably dangerous for him.

Mankad to open and Pujara for me also. Much as I rate Chandra, I think with Mankad in the top 6, two full-time spinners is plenty. I think you need a number 8 who can bat, so Amar SIngh is my pick at 8 and my back-up would be Lala Amarnath...

    All-Time India XIs - A re-run

Well I'd have put in a vote for Hazare ahead of Kohli. He missed arguably the best 7 years of his career due to the war, and if you throw in his averages against the Commonwealth touring sides he'd be well over 50... Plus he bowls a bit.

Don't understand the options. You've already got Mallett, and Collins bowled decent left-arm spin didn't he? Surely the number 7 should be another seamer, any of Gilmour, Archer, Green, Reiffel, or Pattinson maybe. The order in which positions are filled affects the final side. If you...

Was Mark Boucher lucky to play almost 150 tests for a top team like South Africa?

The Healy-Gilchrist situations shows why Boucher got such a long run. It's hard to drop a keeper. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. You need a lot of evidence to suggest you're getting an upgrade in runs without losing too much behind the stumps. Pakistan chose Kamran Akmal who averaged about...

The Great Allrounders in County Cricket

I was curious if Franklyn Stephenson's records were comparable, but only 27-ish with the bat, and 26 with the ball. Keith Boyce took 660 wickets for Essex at 23, but only averaged 22 with the bat. Ronnie Irani scored 13000 runs at 43 and took 320 wickts at 29 Mark Ealham : 10,000 runs at 32...
