but we didn't lose either. That and the fact that that game was marred by quite a bit of rain.

Steds, we played Zimbabwe last August before this crisis flared its head.

it was a terrible shot to say the least. he should have at least played out the Flintoff over, but Lara has a history of this. Apart from McGrath and perhaps Donald, no major front line bowler has gotten Lara consistently. Think back to the Aussie tour of the Windies last year. Bichel had Lara's...

but we weren't thrashed, okay. The series results would show that the WI won.

wat evr hapnd 2 Merv Dillon

he had a terrible tour of SA and i agree with the decision to leave him out. If its a thrust for the future then Dillon hasn't a role to play there. Personally i would rather to see a few losses now and a great team in a few few years than an average team for the next few years. Incidentally...

What is so wrong with the West Indies?

i think that it has a lot less to do with the players and a lot more to do with the administrators.

Cricket rules : what should be in and out

i can agree with that rule BUT in an effort to stamp out the negative bowling, a new rule stating that anything that passes down leg is a wide should also be introduced, like in ODI's.

*Congratulations* Brian Lara 10,000 Test Runs!

marc, look whatever floats your boat, but there have certainly been more than that one wrong decision. Lara was NOT OUT at Edgbaston as well. Gayle was NOT OUT at Lords. Chanderpaul was halfway down the pitch at Edgbaston. Perhaps giing the batsman the benefit of the doubt only applies to the...

it hink England's victories have had a little more than luck to them. They've always had someone who would pick up if things got tough. They are looking quite good and i might even venture to say that they could give the aussies a run for their money if they play at home.

my apologies. It wasn't Sarwan, it was Gayle.

*Congratulations* Brian Lara 10,000 Test Runs!

look, i never got personal with it. All i'm saying is that for umpires of International standing they were two very blatant wrong decisions. Taufel is a good umpire as is Hair but the thing is that they are not above criticism.

sarwan was also given out in the first test when he was blatantly NOT OUT. selective memory now don't we? What about Flintoff and Trescothick in the first test?? LBW's that certainly should have been given out.

Cricket rules : what should be in and out

IN: Batsmen allowed to appeal to the 3rd Ump for a decision that may be wrong. Can be regulated by say allowing a batsman 3 appeals per innings.

i never said that WI would not have lost and it has nothing to do with that. the point is that the Umpires did not do a proper job. say waht you like the decision against Lara was at best inconclusive. The decision against Chanderpaul was horrendous at best. Chanderpaul was at least a few feel...

right. Lara will go on radio and condemn the umpiring to get a 100% match fee or a suspension. Please note the dripping sarcasm.

*Congratulations* Brian Lara 10,000 Test Runs!

First off, Lara DID NOT hit the ball on 0* in his 400*. Ample replays showed that. Now i don't know which coverage you're lookinga t but absolutely none of the replays showed Lara getting a nick on 13*. It was a poor decision and i stand by my opinion.

Hair has a history of giving decisions like Chanderpaul's.

put a sock in it. This is the second time in as many matches that he's been on the wrong side of 2 very blatant wrong decisions. The umpires are at fault. They aren't doing their jobs.
