    The thing is and Silly cow can confirm but I am pretty sure Shiv was ranked number 3 in the world at the time in Test Cricket so despite his age and with the windies struggling to produce quality test batters in recent times it didn’t make sense..

    Brilliant knock from Root. NZ should not be too discouraged though apart from Root and Stokes England haven’t really shown they they have much else in the top order so it’s quite an open series

    I know Potts batting was poor in the first innings but what is his ability like? Do England have 4 number 11s or can anyone dig in if a wicket goes early? Leach would have been useful in that situation
