Kuggs for Test cricket, I would have backed him for the one dayers later in the year maybe.. Seems premature with his case just finishing. TBH, there aren't any other better options. His batting is handy too. Personally I'm not too concerned around the "PR" behind his selection. There will be...

Walkers wicket of Younghusband, I can't get my head around how it missed his outside edge, at the same time spinning half a metre into him to take off stump?? Odd, maybe he was intending to leave inside the line? Drift? He's a Magician

How good does Nathan Smith look with bat and ball? Easily slower than the rest, but he's only 18! Big future for this lad hopefully. Finnie was also coming good before injury.

Walker is a potential NZ candidate down the road because he is a bits and pieces player. Devcich, Craig, CDG, Woodcock, Ellis, Astle and even Santner have all played for NZ in the past few seasons due to their ability to hold a bat, which adds to their generally average bowling. Even Doug...

Apparently (on a radio news bulletin I heard) they've gone for the slow side of the block in Hamilton. The groundsmen said he was dissapointed as the faster track would have suited Southee and Boult (it's their home track also). Has NZC lost the plot? We seem to afraid to play to our strengths...

I'm at work and can't watch, Wagner is getting the pound. Is he blowing the same old short pitched fingers crossed they get a top edge approach? That is fine in the right conditions, if the pitch is flat and there aren't many runs in the bank, it's dangerous. Going at 5's isn't good enough...

Yeah he should be in the NZ Winter training camp, here's hoping he comes through that a more rounded all formats batsmen. We really are missing some NZ A games, guys like him, Young, Bruce, Kuggs, Jamieson, Ferguson, Blundell, McClure all would benefit greatly from some A games, as well as the...

I never knew CDG was our 3rd best opening bowler! Seriously, WTF. The guy is a part time medium pacer. Might as well have played Munro, at least he can score runs. Hesson/Larson/Williamson love their bits a pieces players. Nice Southee! Cook gone. Another tonight would be nice.

Thank jesus for Nicholls. Who would of thought we'd be thinking that! With only some CDG slogging to come, we really need him to kick on. 250 wouldn't be enough, we know the Basin turns into a road after the first 2 sessions of play. But it would be something to bowl for.

Must be just me then. It really feels like the Saffers played for the draw today, knowing the rain is coming tomorrow. Was certainly a slow grinding day today.

Wow what a boring test match. It's been a hard watch/listen. Hope we get a hard bouncy track in Welly. Weather is looking rubbish leading up to the match, so will probably be a dirty seamer.

No problem having a pink ball round, all good. But having it during the South African test tour is odd, considering they aren't even having a day night test match. Players who may be in contention for the next game or 2, have been playing with a pink ball. It just seems bad timing. And un necessary.

*NZ Cricket Schedule Meeting* "Hey, we have the most important Test Series of the Summer coming up," "Yeah.." "Why don't we play a domestic pink ball match during the same period?" "I didn't think we were playing a pink ball test against SA?" "We're not." "Perfect! Lock it in."

I hate to say it, but Hess seems a bit close to certain players, as a mate rather than a coach. It's the only reason I can see why Ronchi is still there. Other than "experience," which amounts to nothing when you aren't doing 50% of your job, which is scoring runs. He's given Luke 2 years of...

Yup, a hypothetical prediction. Was trying to say if those 2 things happen, he could come into the side.

How has it taken so many years to work this out.. He had few games at 5 several years ago after his first dropping from the side however, would have been pre Hesson. Guppy (after a successful Plunket Shield transition and Nicholls being humiliated against SA) to 5, with Munro/Neesham/Anderson...

I wouldn't be completely against Munro in the team.. Could see him crushing the average sides at home. As long as he's bowling also. Eg, 3 Seamers, Santner and Munro. He just looks sooo bad way too often. Henry looks like he has smoothed up his action a bit, he was getting very "leap and...
