Better Batsman : Jadeja vs Imran

...than his career in wins. 50+ scores in wins: Jadeja - 20 times Imran - 5 times Avg in wins: Jadeja - 42 Imran - 36 I think many good innings will be present in draws by both as well. For example, Jadeja was intrumental with his lower order runs in series win in Aus and draw in Eng. I...

Better Batsman : Jadeja vs Imran

Jadeja hundred in a draw at Old Trafford on a road against Archer, Stokes, Carse and Dawson – "words can't describe how impressed I am." Imran hundred on a tough pitch at Karachi on a dry pitch against Marshall, Garner, Clyde and Croft – "you ****ing donkey!"

Better Batsman : Jadeja vs Imran

Career of both Imran - avg 37 - 6 tons - crossed 50+ 24 times in 126 innings Jadeja - avg 37 - 5 tons - crossed 50+ 32 times in 128 innings Avg and ton counts similar, but given Jadeja has batted on far difficult home grounds than IK and yet drastically higher rate of crossing 50, I will take...

Better Batsman : Jadeja vs Imran

lol. Low impact innings on roads. The king of the pointless inning in a drawn match
  5. subshakerz

Better Batsman : Jadeja vs Imran

Same. Quality innings against quality attacks.
  6. Johan

Better Batsman : Jadeja vs Imran

Better comparison. I think Imran Khan, by a little bit, I think his big innings are higher quality like Lahore 1980, Karachi 1990 or Adeliade 1990.

De Villiers vs Kallis (against pace)

While Kallis batting higher and 100+ innings for both, Kallis in SA - Avg 56 with 23 tons AB in SA - Avg 47 13 tons

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

3, and warming the bench isn't the flex you think it is.

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

    In 2 innings yes.
  10. Johan

    Better Bat

Botham, similar run output but 3× more hundreds in 25% more innings.
  11. Johan

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

...has just 2 overseas hundreds both in England, Jadeja is a more consistent batsman overseas but Botham still has a greater body of work and more marquee performances overseas with the bat. Their runoutput even overseas is identical, and once again, 3 times more hundreds in just 20% more innings.
  12. subshakerz

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

Ah yes as we know fifties are really the best match winning metric.
  13. M

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

can debate more match winning performances centuries are arbitrary. Jadeja has 32 scores past 50 in 128 innings (25%). Botham has 36 scores past fifty in 161 innings (22%) and then the consistency abroad and the West Indies issue w Botham Can’t see the argument for Botham

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

Yes. I have to say I'm finding this conversation bizarre. There is hardly much difference between Imran and Jadeja while clear advantages for Botham. It's kinda disheartening how some folk simply don't know basics of how to judge bats. Botham had the expectations of a middle order bat his...

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

we established none of that in the Imran discussion, Botham has 3× more hundreds in 25% more innings, makes more run per innings and has more match winning performances with the bat by far. It's clear who is better with the bat. Jadeja being a better bat and not that close is clear blind average...

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

not ours are meaningless, we established that when discussing imran argue the numbers rather than your intuition. Jadeja’s a batter batter and it’s not that close
  17. subshakerz

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

Plus Jadeja has a NO boost, around 1/5th of his innings. An advantage Botham doesn't have.
  18. subshakerz

    Kapil/Jadeja vs Botham/Flintoff

Jadeja was a top order bat for 25 innings at number 6.
  19. subshakerz

    Better All Rounder Pair

Let's see. Jadeja didn't play any attack comparable to WI. Comparing Aus and Eng to Bothams WI and Aus doesn't make sense then. The NOs are fine but Jadeja had an unusually large number of them and we have to account for that in average. It's clear RPI matters more than average in this case...

Is Javed Miandad an ATG test batsman?

Miandad's record in this respect seems anecdotally special, but I don't think many other players of the home umpires Era would be much different. I think I read of Gavaskar as well as having some similar sort of disparity. I think it was just probably shitty umpiring all around in those days...
