Atacking the aussies is often the best way to play them and Pieterson and flintof at 5 and 6 would certainly do that

Last batting place for the ashes?

The main question over selection for the ashes lies on who will be englands final batsman in the ashes. Which of the 4 candidates is best? 1.Mark Buthcher - Has proved himself a decent international player over the last few years although prone too throwing his wicket away. Obvioulsy has...

Dean Jones says England should produce seaming wickets

a turner is a very poor idea and warne would destroy them. I think a slow pitch could be a good bet but for the good of the contest a pitch that is good for the batsmen but offers a bit to the bolwers usualy the best.

    English spin bowlers

certainly in cricket coaching ive recieved very little emphasis has been placed on spin bowling maybe because it is very hard and most of the youngsters that do take it up are discouraged from an early age as they are often hit around a lot

Dean Jones says England should produce seaming wickets

Trying to make a pitch to Englands advantage is pretty much impossible as Australias bowlers are much better and would expolit difficult pitches better than the england bowlers. pitches that offer something for both bat and ball are the best for producing good cricket so id just go for that...

    Lehmann Dropped For Ashes

A good player but never up to the standard of the rest of the batsmen and it was invevitable he would be replaced sooner or later

    An agreed 6th day?

with scoring rates increasing i dont think a 6th day would be a good idea it would just make batting more negative and we get plenty of results as it is. 5 days is a good length of time and it shouldnt be shortened or made longer

i really dont think you can call scroing 10000 runs and 34 centuries an underachievment surley most players could have done better but that doesnt make the underachivers in the game does it
