I've thought exactly the same thing. I think I've got my hopes up for players in similar circumstances in the past, and then they've played and performed just the same as they always have.

Bangladesh getting more out of it too, I think. But Sodhi and Ajaz definitely known for those four balls every over for a while now. Santner is the same at test match level too, unfortunately.

Really disappointing the way we've gone about this chase. Bangladesh have bowled great but we've just allowed them to dictate terms. 28 overs gone and we're barely scoring at two per over. Would have loved to have seen a bit of positivity out there and putting some of the pressure back on the...

Ravindra definitely needs to come in for one of these two Latham and Nicholls plodders.

He’s got years of rope yet … he’s a good cantab lad!

I think the NZ side will be feeling confident. The pitch is not doing much at all, and they’ve had the first innings to get used to conditions.

Agree to disagree, that’s certainly not what I saw on the footage. Or the third umpire.

I don’t think that was the ruling, it was that he caught it cleanly and then the ball touched the ground as he rolled taking the catch, while it was in his hands.

I don’t think so, there wasn’t any definite proof for me. Looked like they were just trying to find a way to give it not out.

Wow, in all seriousness that’s a pretty poor call.

Perhaps it’s worth reanimating Wagner’s corpse for the second test, this spin attack looks totally toothless.

Yes sorry I wasn’t going back almost 15 years to Milne’s debut in what I was saying. Calm the farm!

Very well said by Smithy, here’s the link to the article: https://www.sen.com.au/news/2023/11/28/the-right-time-is-now-why-rachin-ravindra-should-be-playing-test-cricket-for/ NZ Cricket always misjudge these moments … not playing Ajax at home after his 10 wicket haul, selecting Kuggeleijn when...
