"We Need to Talk about Jimmy" A Sky Sports production narrated by Michael Atherton looking at the future of James Anderson in an England shirt "He's fully embraced BazBall and will become a fixture in our XI for many years to come" (Swaz McCullum) "He's quality"(Ben Stokes) "The GOAT" (Chrissy...

*Official* Fifth Test (The Oval, London) 27-31 July

Moeen Ali being wheeled out for an Ashes series when he's been retired 18 months from the format greatly puzzles me. You've got a young talented leggie in Rehan Ahmed (who can properly bat btw) and you sideline him for a mediocre test offie who flatters to deceive with the bat Yeah, BazBall...

Yeah, he's not Nathan Lyon - he's better

Look, Anderson's a genius, but patently isnt the bowler he was a couple of years ago. Lost that zip Do I think his performance will significantly detoriate in the next year or so? Probably not Does that still mean there aren't any better options to bring into the XI? No

    Alinta Energy no use anymore?

*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

Cumulative fatigue is a thing tbf. Bloke is captaining and spearhead of the attack. Far too much on his plate

*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

Also feel like Warner is going to get runs in this test, and you'll then here his selection being justified with such platitudes like "You can never write off a world-class batter like Davey"

This is out the box, but couldn't they have rested Cummins for this test and get either Head/Carey to deputise and bring in Neser? His workload is just far too much

*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

Personally would have rested him for one of the tests. Head or Carey could easily deputise. Far too much dependent on him being skipper and the spearhead of the attack Australia missed a trick there imo

    *Official* Women's Ashes 2023

I think McGrath's performances need to go up a level tbh. She looks a bit one-dimensional at the crease. An excellent player don't get be wrong , but she needs to really convert those starts that she gets. Certainty against spin she looks quite vulnerable

    *Official* Women's Ashes 2023

Sutherland is an absolute gun, there's no way I'd be dropping her even to accommodate Lanning. Looks like she has a massive up-side and think she has more potential than McGrath actually

    *Official* Women's Ashes 2023

Yeah no idea why they don't get Jonassen/Gardner on quickly and try and stem the flow. Brown is a wicket-taker but goes the distance quite often and Perry isn't really a front-line bowler anymore Not sure if Healy just isn't that tactically astute or just places too much faith in the quicks Btw...

Lol England suck. Such an overrated team

*Official* First Test (Edgbaston, Birmingham) 16–20 June

I mean I disagree. I didn't see any of today's play so presume Hazelwood was very good by all accounts? I still think it's a dreadful call. He's a much improved test bowler from 2019 and this attack is just too samey in his absence Starc should have been a lock for this test irrespective of the...

*Official* First Test (Edgbaston, Birmingham) 16–20 June

Just dropping in to say that not playing Starc here is a diabolical decision. I don't get that decision one bit. Unbelievably bizarre

Jack Leach out of the Ashes

Going back to Moeen would be a joke. He's retired. Either pick Jacks, Dawson or Rehan - or go without a specialist front-line spinner Dawson would be darkhorse pick itbt. Underrated cricketer

    *Official* Australia in India 2023

I get that tbf. He could regress back into mediocrity, but the bloke is in the form of his life ObvsI Smith and Marnus are locks, but it's about looking ahead to the WC imo. What if Maxwell and Mitch Marsh/Stoinis are unfit then? You're also realistically looking at another opening combination...
