    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

The whole Southee saga, has been disappointing, he hung around 18 months too long, he was probably desperate to get to 400 test wickets. but his form has been awful and in no way should he be selected for the 3rd test, give him an ODI or a T20 as a finale,

Bitterly disappointed in the Kiwis performance this test series. Southee who i was a fan off should have stepped down after the Indian series, surely he knew his time has passed, Conway needs to play a lot more 1st class cricket and work on his technique, he is a walking wicket, Latham too...

*** Official *** Sri Lanka in South Africa, Nov 27 to Dec 9 2024

Verreynne has really impressed me, he has nailed his place for the foreseeable future, you cant score 3 centuries and not be a test class wicketkeeper batsman, vey interesting game, even stevens at the moment,

    South Africa team selection

Is it too soon for Maphaka to be in the test team ?. he is still a kid, his body has not fully developed yet, he has played so little first class cricket and 5 day test matches are much tougher, my worry is pushing him too quick he may end up like Ngam and Zondeki, would have chosen either...

*** Official *** Sri Lanka in South Africa, Nov 27 to Dec 9 2024

Time to give Coetzee an extended run in the test side , he can be expensive at times but he does have the x factor and makes things happen. Markram needs to stand up and be counted, is this the last chance saloon in the test side ?. Mulder has improved a lot and been impressive recently, be...

Just How Good Was Barry Richards?

Barry Richards was a great first class cricketer and i have no doubt he would have been a great test player too, the same applies to Graeme Pollock.

    South Africa team selection

Yes Pretorius and possibly Sipamla, it has to bee make or break time in tests for Aiden too, so much talent but too many low scores.

    South Africa team selection

A little bit puzzled why Dane Paterson is in the squad, he is a steady bowler but almost 36 years old, time to move on to the next generation,

*Official* New Zealand vs Sri Lanka- White Ball Tour of SL- November, 2024

Glen Phillips bowling has improved dramatically, always was a capable batsman, imo a genuine allrounder now,

    Wasim Akram Vs Kallis

Interesting list, i would add Statham, Willis and Starc to block 3,

    The Best Wicket keeper?

Bob Taylor was the best, better than Knott, just not as good a batsman, he stood up to the stumps with fast bowler Ole Mortensen bowling really quick. he was a genius behind the sticks, if he had played for Surrey or Middlesex he would have got more recognition,

*Official* New Zealand tour of India 2024

Wow just wow, This has to be the best ever series win for the Kiwis, even more so than when they beat the Aussies in the Hadlee era,

*Official* South Africa in Bangladesh: Two Test Series, 21-25 Oct, 29 Oct-2 Nov 2024

While i applaud the Proteas for their performance i have to say Banga have been abysmal , the Saffers batsmen had so little experience of Asian conditions but looked far more comfortable than the Bangas did, as for the bowling, the figures speak for themselves. big plusses for South...

    South Africa team selection

Really pleased for de Zorzi and Stubbs, along with Verreynne they have nailed down their spots for an extended run.

Should eng drop Joe Root for the ashes?

If Root fails, then England usually fail too. unless his form drops massively he is there for the next 3 years.

*Official* South Africa in Bangladesh: Two Test Series, 21-25 Oct, 29 Oct-2 Nov 2024

Good performance by the Proteas, but awful by Banga, they will improve in the 2nd test i have no doubt, ZA one change probably, if fit Bavuma returns, although a disappointing game Piedt will keep his place.
