    3 innings cricket

parts of it?? i'd say the vast majority of it. And people are getting bored of it as well in certain parts of the world - the crowds down here for the latest series where terrible (and tv ratings showed that the Australian Open was a far more popular choice for the viewer), while CA's attempts...

    Martin Crowe's oneday solution....

I like Crowe's suggestion. Would really test out the captaincy. The crowd's wouldn't love it so much though - it would give the batting team a severe disadvantage, and we couldn't have that now would we..... I would like to see it trialled in domestic level and grade level though where crowds...

Hauritz now dropped from state team...

Hauritz is an average cricketer now. I still maintain that he had the talent, but one day cricket has screwed him big time. He used to float the ball a bit and get a bit of turn on it but then he become pigeon holed as a one day off spinner who just darts the ball in and concedes little to...

    A.F.L Thread

i'm a mad west coast fan. love the game. for those who don't know there is a great forum for the game at www.bigfooty.com don't know what the policy is here in terms of posting other web-site addresses, but if it's not allowed please tell me and i'll delete it.

Does it help to send in a night-watchman?

I've never been a fan of night-watchman (unless i'm the one being used, giving me a rare chance to bat in the top 7). I just don't see how a tailender is more capable of keeping his wicket for the last half an hour then a recognised batsmen is. I see the thoery that "losing a tailender late in...

    good work mate.

is 20/20 the new oneday Cricket

fair enough, i thought it was played in rounds over the course of the season. I guess with 18 teams, it would be impossible to play out a competition over the duration of one weekend but that's not a bad format for a 20/20 competition and so many teams....

New Cricket Trivia - 'SJS format'

Q6) Did he debut before 1970? No CLUE (Not much of a clue but it's still early days): He went wicketless on his test debut. I'm heading out now, so will answer any more questions in about 3 hours.

is 20/20 the new oneday Cricket

Personally I'm not a fan of 20/20 cricket but there is a spot for it, although it shouldn't even be considered on it's own as an official format - i.e. Test, ODI, First Class, List A, 2nd XI, etc,. I think it is best used, in terms of Australia, as a carnival type tournament rather than the way...

New Cricket Trivia - 'SJS format'

haha sorry mate. you got a bit unlucky there. I copped that one in a trivia night last weekend. Wouldn't have known the answer without having to look it up otherwise. Anyway Q: Who's the Australian test cricketer with a highest FC score of 99 not out?

    Biggest Six You've Ever Seen

I'm pretty sure know one here would've seen this one but it was in a Sydney first grade match. Dean Waugh (Steve and Mark's brother) hooked a ball that cleared the local pavillion. This would mean the ball has to clear a point about 20 metres higher than the point of contact and about 75 metres...

    Brett Lee in test team

There is always a media push for Brett Lee to get into the Australian team (especially from NSW) and it's simply because he's the highest paid Australian player. Not by CA, but from sponsorships and endorsements. A lot of companies have paid a lot of money to have Brett Lee's product on their...

Mark Waugh complains of Queensland 'bias'

This is what i wrote on the topic on another web site. Well he is right on the three selections there, but it has to be remembered there have always be beneficiaries over the years (even from within the one state side): Lee v Kasprowicz Lee v Bichel MacGill v Hauritz Symonds v Katich Clarke v...

    Brett Lee in test team

at the moment he shouldn't be. All three seam bowlers are doing a great job and don't deserve to get dropped. What Lee has done in the one-day form has been good but hasn't been so good as to replace Kasper.

    3 innings cricket

People still flock to McDonalds, doesn't mean it's any good. Both are quite amazingly similar i reckon. Simple, manufactured, you know what your gonna get when you step into the ground.

    The silly season!

not so much South Australia recruiting, but more state fringe players looking for another opportunity. I may be wrong, but i'm pretty sure South Australia has been quite a happy hunting ground for fringe players over the years to move to in a bid to get their FC Career. Outside of Ferguson and...
