Who is Asia's sixth greatest cricketer?

Anyone who thinks Imran is a better bowler than Ambrose can't be taken seriously. Ambrose is a different class.

Who is Asia's sixth greatest cricketer?

    Sanga obviously.

    Steve Waugh Vs J Miandad

I'm saying Waugh was selfish, Steven "notout statpadder" Waugh is the most selfish australian of all time, never mind cricketer. Only thing he was bothered, was about averaging 50.

    Steve Waugh Vs J Miandad

Both absolutely disgusting cricketers. Selfish Waugh was less disgusting of the two.

Need 150 runs to win . Only 4 wkts remaining .

Ben Stokes. Most destructive of this lot as well.

    Sunil Gavaskar vs Graham Gooch

Gooch was weak against stump to stump inswing by medium pacers. He was incredible player of pace and bounce.

    Sunil Gavaskar vs Graham Gooch

Because it's needed. Gooch, Gower, and most England batsmen of the bowling era are underrated because of tough home conditions, which affect the overall average. You guys vote Sehwag ahead of Gower, which is a tragedy. Gower succeeded in all types of conditions against all types of bowling; he...

    Sunil Gavaskar vs Graham Gooch

Against quality pace- Gooch Against quality spin- Gavaskar Quite simple really. Gavaskar himself failed against Lillee led attack both for world 11 and in 1980 tour of Australia. Gooch was better against extreme pace and bounce. Gavaskar better against other types of bowling. Gooch had it...

The one who actually faced it

    David Gower vs Virender Sehwag

Gower by miles. Averaged 46 overseas in the tough era (40+ in the two toughest countries), brilliant against all types of bowling. Played entirely in the bowling era, with England being the home game. Sehwag was terrible against fast bowling and walking wicket in some conditions.

    Graham Gooch vs Younis Khan

It was a decent knock, but that knock doesn't prove that he was a good player of movement, so his record in England flatters him in that sense. Yes, he deserves credit for capitalizing on those pitches, but my point is that he would have gotten so few of those in Gooch's era, especially if he...

    Inzamam vs Gooch vs Chanderpaul

Gooch's 114 Auckland is better than any inzamam's knock in eng and nz. He got some very poor attacks in England in the 90s. Like younis and sehwag, he isn't proven outside Asia at all.

    Graham Gooch vs Younis Khan

Younis was very average against all types of fast bowling. Outside of CT 2013, he doesn't have any quality knocks outside Asia. His record in sena is more inflated than Venezuela's economy; he failed when the ball moved or bounced and cashed in when flat pitches were on offer. That was the...

    Inzamam vs Gooch vs Chanderpaul

Paying pace is much more important, and Gooch is more proven against quality pace bowling despite brutal pitches and scheduling, unlike Inzamam. Gooch wasn't as good as Inzi against spin, but he was still very good against spin. Listen to what Warne says about Gooch (since you're big on peer...

    Inzamam vs Gooch vs Chanderpaul

Inzamam failed against SA and Aus both home and away, and his runs in the West Indies came on slow pitches. His record in England and New Zealand heavily flatters him, a bit like Younis, who came through flat pitches and poor attacks. Gooch was brilliant against W's led Pakistan and against...

The ATG Teams General arguing/discussing thread

I find it funny how a lot of people here show superiority complexes in ATG lists. Don't make it unnecessarily high standards ffs. There have been more than 3000 test cricketers in history, and among those, 2.5–3% are ATGs, roughly 75–80 players are ATGs. It's incredibly simple. Peer ratings...

AB de Villiers vs Gordon Greenidge

Gavaskar mostly feasted on WSC-depleted attacks and that terrible West Indies attack in the 71 series. Nothing special in the two toughest places to open in England and New Zealand either; got flat pitches in Pakistan and was an Indian opener, so had a lot of access to flat pitches. Gavaskar...
