    Scott Styris

Styris is a good player. End of story. Hes had a poor series which was hampered by poor stability at the top of the order and weak bowling lineup. Also had an ear infection in last test, so discount that one. He'll be back over 40 by the end of the summer.

The only reason I suggested you Camel56, is that in all the other serious threads where people discuss, who is the best hitter, has the best bowling action etc. you always post "Me, I am the best.." and all that kind of bull****. So don't try and take the high road on your "serious" post...

    Biggest hit you've ever seen.

Brian "BD" Dickinson of Cornwall Cricket Club in Auckland, got hit for the biggest six in the history of the game at Orewa against East Coast Bays by "Sheldon". Sailed high wide and handsome over the bamboo shoots. Great Stuff.

    Scott Styris

of course, thats exactly why we can't do that. we don't have the luxury of throwing away a player good enough to average over 40 in test match cricket. and lets take a leaf out of australias book when it comes to styris. you wouldn't see australia (nor did you when ponting had a horror run a...

    Scott Styris

I agree they should drop him.. but not discard him. He has too much ability to be discarded. You must agree that if they can get him back and playing with the full face of the bat, nz cant afford to be without him.

    Pinkline's Best Ever World Eleven

Okay, so I'm new to CW and don't know how to start my own thread, but this seems a good one to start this in. This is my ATTACKING/BRAVADO XI. My thoughts on the extra squad members (read on) are Tendulkar, one of the great WI quicks, possibly Warney, Shahid Afridi. And definitely Agarks...

I totally agree with you, obviously I'm a big McCullum fan. And Pig too. A little harsh on Macca though. Once Gilbert gets through with him he'll be back.

The Best Batsmen of their respective teams

Yeah, i know, but I just can't handle saying Inzy is a complete one day batsman. His running just irks me. But you may be right at present, although Malik has the package to be a one day giant.. although Inzy will always be more of a giant.

    Best bowling actions

Yeah.. and the Australian media wondered why Stephen Fleming didn't enter into a "gentleman's" agreement with Ricky Ponting on catches claimed by a fieldsman. Would you trust Justin Langer if he told you he had taken a catch? I certainly wouldn't. I almost fell off my chair laughing when Ian...

    Most boring cricketer ever

It would have to be "the corpse with pads on" - Bill Lawry. Big nose = Big hose. Or so Bill would have us believe.

Fair enough, of course it doesn't do it for everyone. But responsibility can do wonders for certain individuals, from what I know of Barry it will, and already has helped his game. The same thing happened to Cairns when he settled down. I do know what you're saying though.. look at Warney, lol.

Whatever mate. He's a great player, and i have every confidence he'll prove us all right here in nz who know him. You've gotta remember this is a guy who is very mature for his age, he already has a young family. That may not mean anything to anyone, but trust me it does. I think he's got a...
