I'd like to see this team today: Guptill Munro Williamson Taylor Latham Nicholls CdG Santner Sodhi Ferguson Boult I mean I still hate it, but given the available players that's what I'd like to go with.

Agree with Young for after the World Cup, but I think for WC we should blood an explosive option, Phillips/Seifert seems like the go. Doesn't matter too much if they fail at this point I don't reckon.

Prepared to give Munro rope until the end of the series. But maybe for Bangladesh we have to consider Latham opening and Nicholls at 5.

Not a fan of this XI tbh. Would prefer Santa at 8. I mean I hope Bracewell goes good but the balance of this side aint doing it for me.

Yep agreed actually! Minor memory loss on my part.

My argument is that Latham and Nicholls are very similar, their job is to rotate the strike in the middle order at near on SR of 100.

I think Stoinis is probably the only definite lock in the Aus WC Starting XI haha.

Yeah I know it's harsh on Nicholls, but surely he's just cover for the top 5? Or if Munro really ***** the bed, then move Latham up to open and Nicholls at 5.

It is quite a weird squad for this series. Cos I have no idea if they're gonna play Nicholls at 6 and CdG/Bracewell at 7, Santner at 8? Surely Bracewell isnt a 7?

I think you're more likely to get 10 overs comfortably out of Neesham/CdG/KW/Munro. Rather than just 3 of that combo. My starting XI has no room for Nicholls at 6, you need that spot as an all rounder imo. Gup Munro KW Ross Latham (wk) Neesham CdG Santa Henry/Southee Ferguson/Sodhi Boult

Oh absolutely. He's hardly a hero either contrary to what the article says.

Yeah I guess, I just wonder who they have in mind for the WC squad.

Pretty standard squad for mine. Interesting that there is no back-up keeper. CdG averages 44 with the bat at home, so he'll probably have one innings that cements his place in the WC squad.

Yeah I'm not gonna say anything more about this at the request of Starfighter. But jeez that comment from bob riled me up.

I imagine the squad for this series is going to be very close to the World Cup squad.

Agree with the first part. Not sure about the 2nd. I would say Boult, Lockie and Santa are definite must haves with Sodhi coming in depending on the wicket.

I just want to see Wags bowling in Australia, he missed all 3 tests last time as NZ preferred Henry/Bracewell. I think he will be a new threat on Aussie wickets this coming summer.
