Moments of brilliance, sustained periods of abysmal bowling, can't believe their not going to pick Bollinger.

    Fire in Babylon : Review

Helmets I reckon that if the batsmen had helmets the Windies wouldn't have been such a successful team, for two reasons: 1. The short bowling would be more widely accepted and the added incentive and motivation to prove people wrong wouldn't be there. 2. And batsmen wouldn't have been as...

    Fire in Babylon : Review

Totally agree, the Aussies bashed them up and they came back with some fight and flair and the old style gentlemanly and probably racist establishment didn't like their own medicine. Agreed on the World Cups, but that just shows how good test cricket can truly be far more inspiring than ODIs.

    That too :)

    The "W" word

Totally agree but I reckon at some stage India's powerful batting line up will click and will put one of the Tests out of Englands reach for victory if not an Indian win.

    *Official* Third Test at Edgbaston

Yes they do but if I was a county I'd prefer to have a player on the fringes of the England team, because English players never play for their counties. I'd imagine the amount they are compensated wouldn't be much and anyway nobody goes about producing cricketers in the academy for England you...

No doubt Mitchell Johnson was leading the chatter, he's like a bad boxer, remember before the ashes? He was just going to "storm in and sling it down" and take off those Pom's heads, yep, that worked well.

Don't remember, but in all fairness, he's a class act, take a leaf from the Pom's book and stick with your quality players. Looking at Australia in the Warne era team and there was very little chopping and changing, but I guess that's what winning does for you.

    Anderson Vs Khan

And if they prepared properly, why didn't he go to the Windies for the last test as preparation or at least why didn't the BCCI arrange a few practice matches and rest those who did play in the West Indies.

Totally agree, that's why a two tier Test league would work and it would also allow teams like Ireland to enter Test cricket and develop the game in that country.

    The "W" word

Yes, lets not forget the Indians are the World champions, a bit like the Lankians, ODI cricket suits them better. Suspect a fight back in the Tests as well, they have a track record of coming back from the brink in Tests series.

*** West Indies Cricket Documentary ***

I agree, Viv Richards is one of the scariest men I have ever seen, he looks intense in the interviews. Particularly enjoyed the story of how the bowler would stare him down, he'd stare back, they would turn back to their mark and at the stumps would look back and Viv would still be staring...

Can't recommend Fire in Babylon enough, great documentary, I rented it on iTunes for €3.99, sweet.

    *Official* Third Test at Edgbaston

That's true but keeping under international pressure and to international standard batsmen (and in different conditions around the world) could be a different story. Seems pretty solid but not yet considered a great keeper, if he works on that and keeps up his average, surely he will get his...

    *Official* Third Test at Edgbaston

I personally believe J.B. is a converted batsmen, but like Prior he can work on his keeping.

    Dravid back in ODI squad!!

I just think he's in such good form and a real solid batsmen in the top order, India have the destruction so they need Dravid to hold it all together. Plus he deserves an ODI send off and it clears the air with regard to whether they will pick him in the future.

    *Official* Third Test at Edgbaston

That's true but in my opinion the selectors should stick with the 4 bowler policy, and make a hard decision with the quick bowlers. They stuck with Stuart Broad and look how that has worked out, stick with 7 batsmen (including Prior), although I personally don't think Bopara is the man.
