Two spinners, two quicks - if Monty plays. Let's remember the spinners can bowl a lot of over between them and in emergency you have KP and Trott. It would depend on the pitch if I selected Monty, it would have to be pro spinner wicket, otherwise I'd go Broad. I wouldn't start Patel...

    Test Cricket Draft

It keeps it moving, which is essential with 18 teams. Yes it someone missed their turn they had to wait till their next go and then they pick two selections. If you were number 1 or number 18, you'd have 35 picks to be made before you go again.

    Which was ridiculous really.

The same can be said for Monty.

    Test Cricket Draft

We had a 24 hour rule. If it was someone turn they had 24 hours, if they hadn't gone then they missed their turn and got two selections next time. It kept it moving. We're going to do an ODI one after this.

I'd have a top six, Prior at seven, then Bresnan, Swann, Anderson, Monty. That's if they think the pitch needs two spinners. If not I'd play Broad over Monty. England probably won't make massive totals regardless of which batting line up they go with. Their strength is their bowling and...

    Test Cricket Draft

Started the selection on 30 September. Finished all 18 teams on 9th November. Just doing voting now. Group 1 nearly finished - Ian Sea & Stu Monty are winning! Group 2 voting starts tomorrow and I'll post teams and write ups on here for you all to see what you think.

I'd rather pick a batsman if they want an extra batsman not a part timer who is average in both departments. I don't read too much into warm up games. Who said anything about 5 runs?

I'd rather neither. Anderson, Bresnan, Swann, Bresnan, Monty and KP are six options.

Not sure the series hasn't started yet. But it is the job of Cook, KP and the top six to get the main runs. Prior, Broad, Swann and Bresnan can all contribute as well as doing their other jobs. But if people are think Patel is going to thrive, they might be in for shock! England have to not...

Sounds like you agree with me that Monty should play. I really dislike Patel as a cricketer. Not a very good batsman, not a very good bowler. Should not be in the squad!

That should not be a factor when deciding on who should play. People are saying Patel could get an extra 20 or 30 runs. I think it should be who is more likely to take wickets? For me that is clearly Monty. It is the batsman job to score the runs, the bowlers job to take wickets, they are...

I'd rather the latter. I know Patel got a century the other day, but usually his batting is awful. Don't fancy him sticking around long at all. I like to pick the better spinner and that is clearly Monty. Patel slightly strengthens the batting, but the main job of the spinner is to take wickets!

    Test Cricket Draft

Everyone on here would vote for CW, everyone on TLW would vote for theirs. Can't see it working.

Got to be Monty over Patel. They are spinners and picked primarily to get wickets. Monty is much more likely to do that!

    Test Cricket Draft

It's not a competition! But I think you'll see most teams will have to have a few 'weaker' players!

    Test Cricket Draft

Just found it - only 12 teams though. http://www.cricketweb.net/forum/cricket-chat/57400-test-cricket-draft.html

    Test Cricket Draft

If you do the same, then do it with 18 teams, like we did! I have all the teams, but don't have all the write ups. Will post the write ups and teams for Group 2 tomorrow night and then Group 3, three days later! I assumed it was CW (cricket web - the website) and B'd - just saying you have...
