    Amazon "The Test" documentary

Dunno about you guys but anyone reckon JL comes across as a bit of prick? Definitely a lot of respect for Paine and Uzzie after watching this.

I personally think going forward for the WTC all tests should be a standardised 3 test series. You could still have 4 and 5 test series but the 4th and 5th dont count towards points (Ashes, Border-Gavaskar etc).

Current Big 4 test all rounders.

CdG in test cricket is a beast imo.

    Next Great Batsmen

Think Glenn Phillips will be in this conversation if he gets ample opportunity. Would like to see him at #5 when Taylor retires.

    You're forgetting Wags.

That's the thing about CDG though, is he'll usually contribute in one aspect of the game if he fails in the other. One of my favourites was during the WC final when he got absolutely peppered by Archer and Wood for about 15 off 30 balls, looked all at sea and then comes out and almost wins us...

I like the cut of Young's jib, however I still feel like he's slipped down the pecking order while he's been injured. Surely when Watling retires our top 6 looks something like this: Latham Conway KW Ross Nicholls Blundell And I assume when Ross retires, Nicholls will move up to 4 then my boy...

Kinda glad to see Chapman in the squad, would have preferred Phillips though.

Well I said after we lost game 3, I hope we lose 5-0 to give everyone a wake up call. I have seen nothing about Bruce, Kuggs, Southee, Mitchell to suggest they should even be in the squad let alone suitable for international cricket. Maybe Guptill/Munro to a lesser extent, although Munro...

Had a yarn with John Wright at work randomly the other day. We both agreed that NZ selectors are too conservative but also that he hopes that people start treating T20 as a separate sport and give it the credit it deserves as it evolves more and more. He reckons it'll get to the stage where the...

In our 2016 T20 WC squad we had Boult, Southee etc and McClenaghan and Milne were the first choice pacers. While Mitch got tonked for the Sydney Thunder last BBL I still think he's a very clever bowler and I wanna find that interview with BMac where he basically said Mitch puts in the most work...

I want McClenaghan back in around the setup. He has said he is available for NZ T20 selection but is now constantly overlooked (because I assume he went T20 franchise hunting) but the guy is clutch and should be in the squad for mine.

Yep he has shown marked improvement since batting at 4 reflecting in his stats there as well. Yep, poor 3 innings against India, but also showed he can play spin against the same bowling attack last year with a 50 and a 30. I'm not too concerned, just show some stickability for CDG please. I'd...

I think CdG is worth persevering with at 4. He's had a good record there since being there permanently, averaging 26.88 at 155. Most destructive batsman we have when he gets going imo.

Call me crazy but I'd like to see this in the ODI's this summer: Guptill Seifert/Phillips (wk) KW Ross Nicholls Neesh CdG Santner Henry Ferguson Boult Assuming everyone is fit. Definitely think theres some room for fresh blood but I can't imagine they will do it against India in fear of not...

Player on the left has only played 16 ODI's as opposed to player on the right's 89 ODI's.

Yeah on 2nd thought, I don't mind resting either of them. But dunno about Bennett though, 32 years old so surely not going to be in the frame for the next WC.

Who will be the stars of the 2020s (the decade, not the format)?

Reckon Glenn Phillips has a chance of being a big deal.

You're still on about this? Aus lost in the UAE and thrashed in Sri Lanka last time they were there (during the last cycle) and NZ beat Pak 2-1 and drew with SL 1-1. Not hard to understand why we were ranked number 2. This is the first series we've lost since Mar 2017 against SA.
