What if Sachin Tendulkar was born in England. Do you think he would have ended up with a better record?

Did visiting players in the 90s average 50+ in England or not? Are any of those better than Sachin?

What if Sachin Tendulkar was born in England. Do you think he would have ended up with a better record?

00s but Kevin Pietersen averaged 47+. Claiming Sachin wouldn’t average 50+ is nuts.

What if Sachin Tendulkar was born in England. Do you think he would have ended up with a better record?

Why wouldn’t he debut as a teen for England? That doesn’t have to be at 16. Could be at 18-19. Guy was scoring international hundreds for fun by that point, he would have absolutely smashed whatever level he was playing at and been fast tracked

What if Sachin Tendulkar was born in England. Do you think he would have ended up with a better record?

Bigger question is what would his English name be? He would almost certainly have more tests, more runs and more centuries. The only real question is average - and that depends on whether you think he would have been allowed to debut as a teen and retire as late as he did in his poor run of...

Better 4 year batting run (Tendulkar vs Sangakkara 07-10)

It’s almost like raw averages don’t tell the full story.

What would Bradman average if he played in a typical (i.e. neither batsman or bowler favored) period of the modern era (1970 - current)?

This was his argument: We've NEVER had a player in the modern era bat over 60 (well not until we see Kamindu Mendis) over a really large full career sample size, and here comes a player who is comfortably in the upper mid 60s, imagine how much we'd be sucking him off. Arguably I think there...

    Jasprit Bumrah vs Imran Khan

Only if the question is “what’s the wrong answer?”

    Jasprit Bumrah vs Dennis Lillee

And for good reason, otherwise we’d then have to elevate Jimmy Anderson too

    Jasprit Bumrah vs Dennis Lillee

Bumrah is going to hit 250 soon, it’s not like he has just 50-100 wickets. And his quality is so far superior that it adjusts for any supposed differences in longevity here. No one is saying he’s had a better career yet - just that he’s a better bowler, which he is.

List down your top 10 test all rounders

I’m not entirely convinced Pollock is a better all rounder than Jadeja? That said Jadeja has also had a bit of an Imran-like trajectory, and his bowling especially in the last 2-3 years or so has really declined (although still manages just fine at home, but even then it’s visible to see).

Steve Smith vs Sachin Tendulkar (after 205 innings)

Was wondering how long this thread would take to get to Kallis vs Imran or whatever constant **** subz and kyear ruin every thread with 16/17 pages, not bad

    Viv Richards vs steve smith

All three should be expunged from the record for fixing

    Viv Richards vs steve smith

He doesn’t have a bad memory, he just doesn’t actually watch test cricket except on scorecard sheet sheets

    Jadeja vs Kohli

Yea I’d take him to bat above Kohli these days too
