5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

I wish I could buy Kuldeep a beer.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Absurd. Read someone on BBC or The Guardian say that keeping Kuldeep out has deprived the paying public of a richer spectacle this summer. Couldn't agree more.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

For the best. He must not be feeling so great to be ok with missing out despite no overt injury. Better to go in with a fresher bowler.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Gambhir's a no-presence coach. Someone like Shastri would've probably joked and bantered his way into the groundsman's good graces. People like Dravid and Kumble would've been gracious, sober, and undeniable. Gambhir is just a bad representative overall for the national team.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

What's that about Crawley? Always seemed like a retiring sort.

He also mentions it's the prerogative of the two guys in the middle to accept/reject the offer of a draw, not the captain's. I wasn't aware of this and it seems a bit off if true.

Bumble's come out with some dumbass comments too. Keeps going on about "who's going to bowl at you?" apropos India's refusal to accept the handshake. What do you mean who's going to bowl at you. Eleven players, pick a few ffs. You can't bullrush an unwilling team into accepting your offer.

*Official* India tour of England 2025 General Discussion

Catches, runouts, injudicious hoicks when sitting pretty on hundreds, concussing your foot while trying to reverse-scoop yorkers, Prasidh Krishna, Gautam Gambhir, etc. List as long as Ben Stokes' rap sheet really.

Gambhir single-handedly swinging the moral pendulum back in England's court :wallbash:

What we learned from the 4th test

Kohli was actually better than Root when he had that rep though.

Imagine what he'll do if you pat him on the head

What *should* Ben Stokes have done when Jadeja refused to accept a draw?

This may be the funniest thing I've read here

I'm 100% certain Gambhir's at fault here. He's the type of chode that randomly shoulder bumps you on the streets and considers it a show of his...whatever. Just a very unpleasant human being.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Yeah wonderful occupation. Get to do a bit of a gardening and must be generally soothing to tend to things when the grounds are empty.

Yeah I noticed that too. It's only a picture but that thing about a thousand words...the big man seems peaceful, the angry dwarf wags his finger.

lol that's such a middle-class Indian thing to say, running down people based on their vocation. What a monumental ****.

Is Javed Miandad an ATG test batsman?

Probably the most street smart of his contemporaries, what we call "chaalu/jholar/jugaadu" in Hindi. Would've been regarded a visionary in the T20 era. Not a Test ATG though.
