No full South Africa tour of Australia until 2021

Well that's my point. The only way is to play over Xmas and New Year. SA originally proposed this but CA are not prepared to give up the festive period every 7 years or so.

No full South Africa tour of Australia until 2021

Of course it makes a difference. Wouldn't you prefer to see a proper 5 match test series?

No full South Africa tour of Australia until 2021

Ah the normal kneejerk Aussie reaction when the possibility of giving up the Boxing Day test is mooted. The facts are that SA got ptreyy reasonable crowds for the return Aussie tour despite the games being played in February (not a great time in SA to pull crowds) Another enduring myth is the...

So if he fails in this series he will still be unproven?

*Official* New Zealand in India 2010

Relax Matt. I made a joke about ANZAC and only your fellow mod Prince EWS got the joke. Flem got all uppity about the meaning. I posted Styris stats, which I made the effort to look up, in a discussion on a cricket board. I cannot understand all the browbeating about him, because as the stats...

Styris in tests. 36.04 and 50.75. Any minute now someone will call him an allrounder.

    Muttiah Muralidaran's 10 top batsmen

Interesting that he included a few match fixing cheats in his list. Says a lot about the man.

Greatest All-rounder if captaincy were to be included

Yeah he took the rap for that. Pity all the coaches on their laptops in the changeroom couldn't count either

*Official* Zimbabwe in South Africa 2010

Sounds about right. She basically got laughed off another forum we both frequent.

You might find that Briony has serious issues with Smith.

Greatest All-rounder if captaincy were to be included

Well Pollock was 14/26 including his last 5 in a row. Makes his dropping look a bit suspect in retrospect, considering he had to pick up the reins after the Cronje debacle.

Greatest All-rounder if captaincy were to be included

Looks like Sobers only won 9/39 tests. Not that great

Greatest All-rounder if captaincy were to be included

Well firstly we had to establish the true meaning of allrounder. It is a seriously devalued term imho. How good was Sobers as a a captain?

Greatest All-rounder if captaincy were to be included

Well, so was Tendulkar but is still a great batsman.

That the same Smith that got the MoM is the first TT?
