Anyone worked out what Australia need to bowl Afg out by to overtake Englands net run rate?

Cricinfo are forecasting a score of 145 for Pakistan. Not sure how their algorithm works.

England left some runs there. I haven't RTFT so apologies if already discussed. Looks like a B team Aussie bowling attack and for most teams the gulf between A and B teams is huge. Is that to rest the big names or avoid England getting practise against them?

*Official* 2022 New Zealand Tour of England, Ireland, Scotland & Netherlands

I'm not far from Headingley at the moment - ongoing drizzle so not too convinced there will be much play. As a thought - who would people pick as a combined team from the tests? I get a lot of close calls, but think a majority of the selections I would make would be Kiwis. Hardly fits the...

Seems a difficult task to judge what a like for like replacement is. In the match situation (NZ 5 wickets down - no amazing spin to keep to) Billings would seem more likely to succeed with the bat than Foakes - being a batter who keeps.

It could have been a great option were De Grandhomme fit - there are years where he would run through sides at Headingly.

Any reason NZ don't pick Ravindra? Scored big in the county championship.

Injured Conway gone - bit of a relief as the lead was starting to look beyond Englands batters.

I think its tough when you can see the shape of the game. I wouldn't like to see Dawson or Ali pulled in as they would add too much to the batting - Bess also. One of the Parkinsons would seem fairer in the circumstances or Virdi, or the young Afghan lad in Kent if they need someone who can race...

    2nd Test at Adelaide - 16 to 20 Dec

I think I agree. Would also wonder whether there haven't really been a lot of very strong England batting line ups in the last 20 years and of those that have been good a fair percentage of the batters spent some or all of their childhoods in countries with far more congenial year round...

Was Steyn 'lucky' he got the no1 rank for so long?

Duanne Olivier is hardly setting the county championship alight. Not sure whether he's injured but not in the current Yorkshire 11.
