    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Greenwood dropped for Bracewell... so now you've got Tashkoff, Bracewell and Younghusband for spin. Hartshorn, Sears, van Beek and Abbas for seam. At least Johnson's down to bat at 4 this week. I'm once again confused about the balance though. There must be the assumption that Tashkoff and Abbas...

Worst batsman with a 50 average

Yeah, he was harshly treated. Never even got an England cap.

*Official* Sri Lanka in New Zealand, 2024–25 (ODIs / T20Is)

I suspect this series has taught the team and coaches (of NZ, specifically) very little of value. It might have taught us a thing or two, but nothing that the coaching staff are likely to act on!

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Anyone else being constantly bombarded with adverts for something called SalesForce (featuring Matthew McConaghey and Woody Harrelson) in each and every sodding ad-break. Can absolutely go in the bin.

Again, not sure what the point of Greenwood batting that low is. Must be some plan, but I don't understand it! Even stranger today that Johnson was due to bat below Greenwood. Johnson I guess has a low SR, but Greenwood's is better than Abbas' or Tashkoff's.

That's very similar to Wellington's forecast except with less wind. Every day's summary mentions strong or fresh Southerlies! It hasn't been much of a Summer over the Summer break. Holding out for a very late Summer like in 2020 where April was delightful.

If that's the case, then it's a strong argument for the old "growing the pie makes everyone richer even if you get a smaller %" argument. A 50% uptick in revenue is not to be sniffed at. Hard to know without more data though - it'd be good to see that revenue broken down by sources really to...

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

There are many reasons why those financial results may be simplistic. What caused the $30m increase in revenue from 2022 to 2023? Without that, then 2023 and 2024 would have been big deficits. 2020-2022 look pretty consistent so why the sudden increase of nearly 50% in revenue? Is that...

This is SteveNZ, the T20 fan who enjoys the music loudly piped in between the utterance of ‘straight’ and ‘up’. The pause being just long enough to fit in an advert for DLF’s new hot air balloon company with the ‘up’ segueing nicely into the ‘up and away’ suffix of the advert, yes? ;)

Hard enough to get the kids along to a whole day at the cricket, but an impossibility when they're going to be grit-blasted by the Southerly all day. Will have to take this one in on the tellybox.

You’re forgetting how **** met service is for forecasting in Wellington.

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Yeah, weird game all in all. Great debut from Hartshorn with 5-24; something he'll have to go really well to ever better. The non-run out of Abbas another oddity in this game.

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Not sure what the point of picking Severin or Greenwood was at the moment. Or do Wellington have such dire bowling stocks that it was thought better to go with some no-rounders than, for example, McPeake.

Schaw's a good Central Districts name to see. Not related to Robbie Schaw though?

But Tashkoff is also a spinning all-rounder. I know they're trying to use Greenwood's bowling more this season, but I'd still have him ahead of Tashkoff. Especially given Greenwood was the only one who got any runs last time out. Severin at 7 is also a bit odd.

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Greenwood at 8 and Tashkoff at 4? That's bizarre if they roll out like that. Tashkoff the bowling all-rounder and Greenwood the batsman.

Big Gus out McKenzie’d by his brother. Very disappointing.

Is he a god botherer? If not, I don’t think he would get the Kippax approval, as I recall.
