I can't figure out why Zimbabwe's batting has been this terrible. They've just been giving catching practice to straight balls. Bennet, Williams, Ervine and Raza should all be decent but they've batted like total amateurs.

Thrilled for Taylor and all but that was a really disappointing dismissal

Is Javed Miandad an ATG test batsman?

Only because there are less 50 year old Pakistani fans than Australian/English millennials. Applying the same level of nitpicking, neither's away record looks that flash. Name one great series Ponting had away from against an attack comparable to Hadlee's NZ. Similarly, Root has a couple of...

Is Javed Miandad an ATG test batsman?

If Miandad isn't an ATG then none of Ponting, Williamson, Root and Nourse are either because all of them have similar home/away splits.

    Smith's 2017 BGT vs Viv's 1980/81 Pakistan tour

Smith > Viv at his best, overall, and in his best series against Viv's best series.

He dropped down the order for McDonald too after his first opening stint. He just didn't open enough to be rated that highly as an opener.

He only opened for 70 innings and dropped down the order frequently during his peak. He does not have the longevity for me to exclude the early no rounder phase. Hanif and Lawry were better for a longer period than the time Simpson spent opening.

Let's have Khawaja, Amiss and Katich in next if we're voting for Simpson.

What we learned from the 5th Test

Jennings at least deserved to be picked and if he had been given as much backing as Crawley he'd probably have done better.

It was so moronic I noped out of the next few rounds. @OverratedSanity did a good job of explaining why it was downright moronic. You are exposing your noobness by bringing up my stance on Barry Richards here.

They shouldn't make it either. But those guys still had much better test careers than Kambli besides Barry whose inclusion is questionable. Compton I can get behind somewhat even though there are about 5-10 batsman ahead of him besides Miandad but Ranji is a hipster pick.
