    I don't particularly like Ian Bell but I would say that 'technically' he is as good as it gets and is a joy to watch when he is playing a cover drive or lofted shot down the ground off a spinner. KP more destructive but a lot of what he offers is sheer strength and power.

    KP probably the better batsman, more likely to go out and destroy an attack. That's when he's in the mood of course. If my life was depending on an innings I would rather it was Smith out in the middle.

    What happened to Neil Lennon was of course wrong. However it is now over a decade ago, Northern Irelands support has moved on considerably since and in no way could the support be an excuse for choosing to play for the ROI instead.

    I' say there must still be some after match socialising. I think Strauss has talked about encouraging the England players to share a beer or 2 with the Aussies after games in the 2009 Ashes, just to show that those from down under were normal blokes who could be beaten.

    I recall reading an article which suggested that the West Indies Board asked for slower pitches during their hayday so that tests would go the full 5 days, thus increasing revenue. With the fearsome West Indies attack they were bowling sides out too quick.
