5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

I must watch this because I catch a few Kimber vids and articles and he does not rate Pope. I think he is kinder to Crawley!

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Okay so I just took a look at Pope’s stats and can someone explain to me what’s happening with him in the second innings??? I have obviously been living under a rock to never notice it before.

    Thanks for this insight.

Yeah the world has also changed its views on picking and choosing when to play international games. I think if AB was given one of those deals that Miller or Rassie were on he could have stuck around.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

India generally always pick up wins in South Africa. They just haven’t won a series.

5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

That was as dismissive of a shot as I’ve seen all series. Absolutely nailed.

Him and I are around the same age so you can’t even use the youth excuse on these.

    Wiann Mulder or Washington Sundar?

Mulder honestly has all the tools to be an elite all rounder. Can function as a frontline bowler in the right conditions, proper batting technique, catches everything and a good cricket brain. The difference between him and Washington for me is he has flattered to deceive. Washington has been...

England begging for a draw, Manchester, 27th July 2025

I’ve long been an admirer of Bazball as a concept because I like how it started off being centred around maximising your strengths to give yourself the best chance to win a game. This England team would not be as successful if they didn’t play this way. Just saw a video of what was said and...

4th Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) - 23rd to 27th of July

This series has been so entertaining for a neutral

Reeza is a good T20 batter because he can play amazing strokes but he would be a great batter if he learnt how to manipulate the field. Too bad it’s too late for him now.

4th Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) - 23rd to 27th of July

Root is a champion. I hope he corrects his Aus record before he calls it a day. He should be remembered as the great player he is. Okay so I just watched some of the Indian innings and watching Shardul and the debutant bowl in tandem is ridiculous imo. You might as well have played Kuldeep!!

4th Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) - 23rd to 27th of July

Crawley is fun to watch when he gets going. Even if it is once every 10 innings

    South Africa team selection

Some interesting calls for me. No more Reeza in T20Is? Then why is Rassie in that squad but not the ODI team? Also Linde should be in both these squads. I suppose Mulder being in the ODI team and Markram and maybe Brevis being there to bowl a few does make some sense but I’d still have him there...

    South Africa team selection

Seeing Parnell and Olivier playing in this Champions tournament makes me a little sad. I mean Smuts, Phangiso and Viljoen are here as well but they are definitely older players and/or were only going to be jobbing international players. Olivier played a Test last year! He is getting hit around...

Yeah he should be in the WC team. I don’t care what the conditions are.

He is a project player at the moment who they see loads of potential in. The newer regime haven’t been shy of blooding some young guns although he does have the worst domestic record of the lot.

Simelane has a highest score in T20s of 22. I know there is talent there but he is clearly not ready for internationals. His record across formats is looking very bits and pieces. I’d like to see a more defined role for him in LO stuff domestically. Maybe at 6?

George Linde should have already had a long LO career for SA. It’s a damn shame.
