    *Official* Pakistan in New Zealand

I think Mitchell was finding Sufiyan Muqeem very difficult to pick, was trying to get through his spell without losing his wicket, IIRC only 2 lofted shots into the deep which is unlike normal Mitchell against spin. i assume he will now go boundary hunting against the quicks.

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Bruce's season had one high point (345 on a flat EPOO in a drawn game), otherwise highest score 41. So no real impact on CD's title chances. For team of the tournament middle order batting perhaps Thorn Parkes a better choice than Bruce. Parkes was 5th highest run scorer, including 1st /...

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

I wonder at what stage ND will regret picking a 5th seamer instead of a specialist spinner?

If Babar or Rizwan bat deep, NZ might get exposed with 5th bowling option of Abbas and Mitchell.

Clarkson has had limited chances for NZ but I think Abbas higher ceiling in both batting and bowling, and left arm variety useful when almost all white ball specialist seamers are righties.

No Neesh or Seifert. I assume they are now being considered for T20Is only. If Seifert had been on a ND contract there was a chance he would be opening next week, not Kelly.

I like the squad. Kelly selection is a good reward for domestic runs, but Dale Phillips might have been close. Time to move on from Nicholls Bowes. The other opener option was more game time for Robinson, but perhaps needs more runs at Ford Trophy and Plunket Shield. Having a batting all...

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Bizarre. It was a clear "catch", so perhaps umpire turned down what he thought was an lbw appeal, then ND fielders said "but he hit it", then umpire consulted second umpire about hearing 2 sounds or 1 sound? I don't what other useful info the second umpire could have given to help change...

An interesting 1st session now, NDs last 3 wickets could add 10 or 100 - Clarke can bat, Wagner can hit.

Plunket Shield race might be over, Wellington adding to their 'almost comeback of the century' win over Canterbury last week by having ND 5-50 on a green Basin Reserve wicket.
