Kind of like "Australia haven't beaten us in England in 22 years?"

Official - Road to Ashes 2023

The last time England secured a test series win against Australia was the 8th of August 2015. Since that date, England have won 2 of 16 Ashes test matches, one of which was a 1000-1 come back. But, but ....22 years......

I'd argue Bancroft and Harris won't do any better. I see a scenario where Marsh could change a game or two from the top. Like Head and Khawaja, opening might also just suit his game. It's 3 innings only at ODI level, but they were also 3 of his best innings of his career. But at T20 level...

Marsh to open with Khawaja. I'd love to see it. Give him the same license Head was given against India. Move Head to #5. Two destructive batsman bookending Khawaja, Marnus and Smith. I can't see Bancroft or Harris doing any better tbh.

Yep. It's like 38 degree's out there. Could knock the stuffing out of the bowlers for the rest of the test if they bleed the field like they are currently doing.

My observations as well. Seems to be keeping lower and Jadeja's first over turned more than most yesterday.

Rohit Sharma vs Usman Khawaja - The Better Test Opener ?

Khawaja's record is even more remarkable considering he is clearly best suited to opening. Averages 68 opening from 33 innings.

I think the new ball had something to do with it. My point was, in Nagpur if Shami tried the same bouncer, it was barely getting above waist height for the likes of Khawaja.

There's more bounce on this pitch than any of the first 3 games. Shami was getting it to rear up to Green's chest. It's just more consistent, there's been no real grubbers yet. How many times did Khawaja play back defensively trusting the true bounce? In Nagpur Jadeja was appealing for LBW...

Pretty much the same spin/seam/variable bounce as Day 1 Nagpur. Probably not quite the road some are making out.

Today could be a landmark day on a few fronts, especially if Green claims his maiden ton in India. Will be the start of a really big career with the bat imo. He looked superb last innings before that harsh LBW. The low bounce seems to suit him strangely, as he loves playing straight bat...

Worked so well for them in NZ. A side so out of form the Bangers and now SL are turning them over at home. Im amazed with this model of guaranteed runs you only got 256 against NZ in the second dig. England scored over 360 once in Pakistan on a bunch of roads, what makes you think you would...

They don’t “definitely” score the runs. I know they don’t care how they get out, but you are just assuming they will motor along, in India… Pakistan and New Zealand is not India at home, I can just as easily claim they’d be 150 all out off 30 overs, which is probably much more likely. Put it...

    *Official* Australia in India 2023

Awesome, they’ve applied bazball to what so far? Home pitches and Pakistani runways? I don’t count the most out of form test side in the world at the moment who even SL are knocking about at over 4 an over atm. England are not scoring almost 400 in a day against India in India, no matter how up...

    No they wouldn’t.

Tomorrows forecast is 38 degrees. If Australia bat until tea, they will grind the Indian side down for the remainder of the test imo.

    *Official* Australia in India 2023

Sure, but todays play means this is going to day 4/5. If this pitch eventually breaks up, there’s only 1 side that will be batting on it imo.

In India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka to boot.

You don’t need to imagine. If Green bats for another hour tomorrow, you Will get a front row seat.
