    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

Harper would still play surely? One of the bowlers being left out in order to slot in a specialist bat at 6. Not sure who, haven't got a good enough idea of who is performing in Melbourne grade, but young Peake was the 12th man for this game so he is very much a possibility

    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

Thornton really is very good to watch indeed when he's on like this
  3. GoodAreasShane

    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

Neser has a not completely beyond the realms of possibility chance of getting all 10 here if he keeps bowling like this EDIT: Owen holes out against Steketee, not to be in the end
  4. GoodAreasShane

    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

Gilkes just got brained by Morris there. Not a pleasant thing to see.
  5. GoodAreasShane

    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

For those who were wondering what happened to Tremain
  6. GoodAreasShane

    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

NSW going with the double nightwatchman here is certainly an interesting choice
  7. GoodAreasShane

    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

Rocchiccioli clearly had absolutely no faith whatsoever in Morris with the bat there
  8. GoodAreasShane

    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

Very English looking pitch fwiw. But yeah, Bird is still a quality operator at this level
  9. GoodAreasShane

    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

If you are not even going to bother trying to adress the actual point anymore, give up and go away. Nobody other than seemingly you wants to read this garbage Let me actually discuss the Shield cricket that is going in at the moment

Argee with the two thirds of that, but I do think the Victorian tail is pretty decent (apart from Boland obviously). The problem is none are really a 7 and Harper definitely isn't a 6 Really need to get TJB's mate out pretty soon here

Of course they were, just by a far lesser in quantity but in all likelehood far better informed group of people These days any schmuck with internet access can put their questionable at best opinions up for the world to read, to try and pretend that nothing has changed in the cricketing media...

    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

I don't agree tbh, if anything Sutherland is pretty overrated with the bat. Only averages 18 with the stick in Shield cricket, that just isn't enough for an FC 7 Elliott's record is actually better albeit off too small of a sample size to be instructive of anything much at all. Wouldn't have...

    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

I never said at any point that past players weren't scrutinised at all, it is utterly duplicitous to even try to claim I said anything of the sort. I was always merely stating in the current day that is is more pervasive. But by all means keep tilting at windmills if you so desire
  14. GoodAreasShane

    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

The Vics have been going for that balance most of the year, Sutherland has been at 7 for a lot of the time. Not a fan personally, think they are honestly light on batting somewhat
  15. GoodAreasShane

    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

If Duminy was genuinely on it, your list is absolutely worthless Can't comprehend how you can still try to stand by that one. Time for you to quit while you're behind
  16. GoodAreasShane

    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

Absolute cracker of a yorker from Buckingham to get Kellaway out just then
  17. GoodAreasShane

    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

Back spasms apparently, probably precautionary to some degree
  18. GoodAreasShane

    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

It simply isn't though, no matter how much you hyperventilate otherwise. The level of attention and scrutiny is that involved in the current game is far in excess of what someone who was around when it was pretty much only the written press and live radio coverage that existed as cricketing...

    2024–25 Australian Domestic Season

OK now to be fair that is actually pretty close. Walters has a couple more 50+ scores, and more not outs (which is likely at least in part due to batting further down the order, iirc he also bowled a fair few overs of mediums at that early stage of his career) but other than that there isn't...
