Best and worst Triple Century and above knock ?

Part of me jumps to Bradman's 334 for the 300 in a day stat I remember coming across a lot as a kid, for the best one. Hammond's 336 was considered by some to not even be a legit record, the bowling of NZ's test team pre Cowie being that weak. Hutton's 364, the score to give England back the...

Does Barry Richards deserve an exemption to be ranked among the greats of the game?

Also, I know Colin Bland retired in '66 from tests, but played FC til '74. Any chance he'd have come back between 70-74 if isolation hadn't happened? Such a long time to play FC after retiring from tests.

Does Barry Richards deserve an exemption to be ranked among the greats of the game?

Damn, Lamb was that highly rated by 1980?

Does Barry Richards deserve an exemption to be ranked among the greats of the game?

I see. So it was just great(rather than exceptional in SA and Bradmanesque in Aus) results in England over a long period of time that pushed his averaged back to "only" 54

Does Barry Richards deserve an exemption to be ranked among the greats of the game?

Using whatever years they played FC as being available for theoretical test selection, what's the best side you could have got during the isolation period? That 71/72 tour squad posted earlier lacked Cook, Kirsten and Garth Le Roux, but push forward a few years and you lose Peter Pollock and...

Does Barry Richards deserve an exemption to be ranked among the greats of the game?

These kind of comparisons always make me this "so if he averaged 58 in friendly bowling conditions of SA and his career average was 54... did he fail in friendly batting conditions in other countries?"

CW decides the 32 best test* opening batsmen of all time - The countdown thread!

I thought Wasim Akram would've averaged higher

Also for some reason TC didn't mention the 257* That alone as a kid made me think Wasim was basically an all rounder

I thought Wasim Akram would've averaged higher

Warne, Wasim and Vaas all have toilet tier batting averages in ODI and all seem way better than that

I knew it was in jest  Sorry if my post gave argumentive vibes. Just enjoy to discuss things in great detail!

Does Barry Richards deserve an exemption to be ranked among the greats of the game?

You're telling me you don't think 80 centuries at 54 and 61 centuries at 50 are similar records? The average gap especially is basically the difference between Sobers and Sachin/Lara/pick your poison I'm not saying we can't say Richards is better, but one is considered by many to be one of the...

Does Barry Richards deserve an exemption to be ranked among the greats of the game?

I know he did a lot more in the unofficial/rebel tests as well as succeeding far more in his brief sample size of actual tests, but its intriguing the gap in reputation Barry Richards has over Jimmy Cook considering their similar FC records.
