Good point none of those teams deserve to be 2nd. They all should be equal 6th I think.

Beating Australia last year is probably the difference between being 2nd or being 5th for England. The ratings are weighted in terms of the opponents rating and nobody else beat Australia during the rating period as far as I know.

I guess it shows how flawed their rating system is.

Warney is definately second but still a long way behind McGrath.

No matter what his final record is he will go down in the record books for the biggest ego of all time.

Who says that a bowling average of 23 is average? That is what Dennis Lille ended up with. All of the current England bowlers average over 30 except Hoggard who is about 29.9.

He doesn't need to retire but they do need to rest him from some tests because he is incapable of playing 2 decent tests in a row these days.

Admittedly no I haven't but I have seen Jones bowl. Funny though how many people were talking his bowling up before the start of this test.

I didn't say he was worse but he would give away more runs because he bowls faster and is less accurate. His first class record is worse than both Mahmood and Anderson. Jones is the most over rated player in England even more so than Harmison.

Jones went for about 4 runs an over in the last Ashes when he was taking wickets. He would give away about 6 an over now without getting hardly any wickets. Pietersen only conceded about 3.5 runs an over in the first 2 tests.

Collingwood and Pietersen bowl better than Mahmood/Anderson. At least they don't go for 5 and 6 runs and over. I think in Australian conditions Jones wouldn't do much better than Mahmood and Anderson.

Jones had one good series and that is all. He would have struggled in Australia.
