    Dean Jones vs David Boon

Boon wins this hand down, not just because of twice the longevity. Jones had a bit of a reputation of scoring heavily in dead rubber matches, when nothing much was at stake.

    Top five asian bowlers

He is even more explosive than Marshall ever was.
  3. h_hurricane

Top five asian batsman in test cricket

Uncharacteristic of you to not call him as Shewag.
  4. h_hurricane

Top five asian batsman in test cricket

    Gill should have been higher.

Top five asian batsman in test cricket

Miandad and Younis deserve to be higher than Kohli. On ability, Kohli should have been higher, but had a disappointing last third of his career. Needs to be rightly penalized for this. He had scores of underwhelming or crap series. An average of 46 doesn't lie.

    All-Time World XIs

I don't know if I am too late, but believe Imran deserves to be in 1st XI. Imran Khan Steve Smith

Rank them as test batsman in order.

Why even compare him with others in the first place then ?

    Jasprit Bumrah vs Imran Khan

Bumrah losing polls like this because of sample size. All these comparisons should have waited until a year or two more and he will be winning many.

    Jasprit Bumrah vs Dennis Lillee

So @Prince EWS goes with the order Hoggard > Lillee > Bumrah.

    Kapil Dev vs Barry Richards

You aren't comparing an illustrious career with a good career here. You are comparing an illustrious career with a nothing career. Kapil took almost as many wickets as the runs Barry scored.

    Keith Miller vs Shane Warne

Your secondary skills do not matter until you are a certain Garfield St Aubrun Sobers. So a 34 averaging bowler with a SR of 90 becomes the most versatile bowler in history whereas a 29 averaging bowler who was once the highest wicket taker in history was just an average bowler.

    Andy Flower vs Kapil Dev

Kyear2 still can't come to terms that Kapil has dismissed Marshall more than anyone else.

    Viv (84-88) vs sachin (2007-11)

Tendulkar's second peak coincided with Steyn's peak too. There was Murali too, who was great until the very end. Viv averaged 46 vs Hadlee and Imran during 84-88. He averaged 65 at home and 28 away. So was a home bully in those matches. Tendulkar averaged 48 in his second peak against Steyn...

Bumrah vs Holding - Greater test bowler?

Holding played only 9 World Series matches. From what I could find, out of these, only the 1978-79 Packer series happened when WI were playing international cricket ( 5 test tour in India). Even if we ignore this series, it is still a 31% miss.

Bumrah vs Holding - Greater test bowler?

It isn't just about playing 5 match series. Holding played only 60 of the 92 matches WI played between his debut and retirement. That is a 35% miss.

Bumrah vs Holding - Greater test bowler?

While Bumrah's fitness issues are real, Holding had similar issues too. Else he would have taken a lot more than 249 wickets. Holding does not have an outlier record like Bumrah, even with the massive cordon advantage that he had. The difference between them is only 34 wickets now. Holding was...

    2nd Test (Edgbaston) - July 2nd

Gill has taken his overseas average from 27 to 42 in a matter of 2 tests.

    Vengsarkar vs Amarnath vs Viswanath

Interestingly, Vengsarkar didn't score a single 50 in his first 19 innings.

    Kapil Dev vs Gordon Greenidge

In this comparison, if there is anyone who deserves an adjustment in final average, it is Kapil. As the only bowler worth his salt in the team for over a decade, he played 131 tests, bowled over 27K deliveries, was bowled to ground on numerous occasions and yet returned with a sub 30 average...
