I think Johnson may be trying to make up for his bowling figures for the match of 2/180.

[08:37] <tigger> if all else fails, use the run cushion and bowl ali and root for a while, give the quicks a break and get to the next new ball quickly? Guess they took his advice

Predict that Johnson's demise will come with the new ball; he'll try to drive to mid off again and hit it in the air too square and pick out the fielder. You heard it here first

Cricket and tea (Darjeeling my darling) makes for a wonderful Saturday morning.

To be perfectly honest I think he'll run out of partners and get the not out before he can get close to 100.

Lots of fielders in the circle, have they taken the powerplay already?

29th LBW maybe that's why it's so hilarious.

Hahaha I'm laughing so hard at Shane Watson being out LBW again I have no idea why it's so funny to me this time

My feed is back now. Just in time to see a replay of a great catch at silly mid on by Alastair Cook.

My ESPN3 broadcast is experiencing technical difficulties; they just borrow the Sky Sports feed too. I also blame Shane Watson.

I don't know why but "Shane Watson" strikes me as an extremely Australian name. Just like "Francois de Villiers" would be like the prototypical South African name.

Could be worse, in my country "football" means paying $100 to go see a bunch of steroid-injected overmuscular guys stand around for 3 hours and occasionally run a few yards.

So I'd have to endure 4 days of no Ashes cricket if there's a result today? Can I just sleep until then? At least during the gap week there's the Hungarian Grand Prix that weekend. I think.

Clarke gone for 4? Well I think mission impossible just got a little bit more difficult.

Why is it that the commonest thing I have to explain to Americans about cricket is the "yes, a test match DOES last for 5 days, no they don't play overnight, and they stop for lunch and tea between sessions" and it just absolutely baffles them?

Guess they didn't need that review after all.

I did and changed it; the other sites where I go (and I like to keep my avatar uniform) allow for 150x150 avatars. I decided I didn't like the look of mine in 100x100 so I switched it.

I'm quite confident that England will inevitably strike and chew through the rest of their top order, personally. What do you think Australia will get to? I'm thinking in the 250-300 range, if I were a gambler I'd bet that England win this by at least a hundred runs.

Well, history may be against the Aussies but they're cruising along pretty well at 90/1 so far.
