Gentleman, considering the reason this game is being played could you please take this discussion elsewhere. I am sure I speak for everyone else when I say that no-one is interested is your private quarrel!

    Most elegant batsmen

"Mark Waugh played 368 first class matches in his cricketing career including 128 Tests, the third most by an Australia. He also played 244 One Day Internationals. Waugh was one of the worlds’ most elegant and gifted strokemakers. A true entertainer who put team before personal milestones. He...

**Official** World XI v Asia XI

I have watched plenty of cricket and more than one game as bought a smile to my face. However, this fund raising game for the victims of the recent tragedy in Asia fills me fill of pride. Not only am I amazed at the generosity of the Australian public but also the global community as a whole...

**Official** New Zealand in Australia Thread

A very exciting match but one that highlighted more than a few flaws in the Australian side. The main one being the constant experimentation that we see in the ODI side. In all honesty Kasprowicz has shown that he is not suited for the ODI side, and that one over quite literally cost us the...

    worst fielder ever"

...all the players mentioned above are veritable Jonty Rhodes compared to this butter fingered gentleman. His continued selection to the English side showed that: a) - British selectors do have a sense of humour, and b) - British selectors also have a very large sadistic streak! :D :D :D...

Sadly I think that's the winner

    Worst cricketing injury?

Warne's dislocated shoulder in the VB Series versus England in 2002 was another one that comes to mind. Not as much blood etc as the Gillespie/Waugh collision but the pain on his face made it obvious that all was certainly not well.

    What if??

Well said. However, you are right. Such a theoretical question can never be answered. If Pakistan and India (and to a lesser degree Bangaldesh) had all remained one country, the likes of Gavaskar, Kahn, Tendulkar, Akram etc might never have been born. So trying to determine what the combined...

    Bevan? A Chance for recall?

I will have to disagree. I am a certified Bevan fan and was shocked to see him go after the 03 World Cup. He almost singlehandedly saved Australia on two occassion and the selectors repaid this effort by dropping him. If the selectors wish to invest in youth at the expense of senior players...

    Gutsiest Innings

Now and then, when I have a BBQ at home and the beer starts the flow, the conversation ultimately turns to cricket. At a recent beef and beer feast we began to discuss the gutsiest innings we had seen. Ultimately we decided (after much debate) that Dean Jones should get the nod for his...

Have to admit most of the current and very recent Aussie cricketers have been pretty fit lads. This is a favourite of the ball-and-chain!

    Greatest bowling combination ever

Good to see someone digging deeper than the last twenty years...... :D However my vote goes for Curtly Ambrose and Courtney Walsh as they are one of the best pairs of fast bowlers I have seen in my lifetime only Wasim and Waqar can be compared to them in modern times. The two of them have given...

If you could change anything about cricket -

    * Reintroduce the back foot no-ball rule. * Eliminate the 'free-ball' rule in Australian domestic cricket * Start an ICC sponsored international cricket academy to foster talent from new nations.
