I don’t think Smith cares about the Hundred per se, but equally I don’t think he wants to get out cheaply to English bowlers!
He definitely cares. Still doesn't mean anything for the Ashes but he desperately wants back in the Aus T20 team and franchise cricket is how he wants to get there. He retired from ODIs for this

And I hope he continues to fail in them

Love the bloke but I'd rather see him playing tests till 2028 instead of t20s in the Olympics

Oh no Cummins will miss the 3-game T20 series in NZ which he otherwise would totally have played in guys

Wouldn't have wanted him to play the T20 series, or the following odis, anyway. Still its a bit of a concern. If I was running a market on Australian pace bowlers' injury prognoses I'd take the odds on Cummins recovery after winning the jackpot on Morris missing the season.

The more it encourages them to rotate the quicks during the Ashes, or get Boland a few games at least, the more it's a blessing in disguise for Australia. It becomes an issue if we end up with 2 quicks out though because whoever is 5th best at this point would likely be not particularly convincing.

Given the other injuries. Would it be Neser or O'Neill? If the next best quick is someone like Abbott I'd rather not even play them. Go with 2 quicks, Lyon, Webster & Green, assuming Green can bowl to a decent standard

Its a good policy to get Boland playing games but won't help Cummins, who'll play all 5 if he's fit. So his workload will have to be managed during games. Our recent run of green wickets may actually help in that regard. Getting Green back bowling solves the problem though. Also getting 5 to 10 overs from Webster as a plan B could also be useful. If someone has to come in outside of the big 4 then I'd favour Neser ... as soon as he's fit again.

Didn't realise Neser was injured too, damn. Our next fit quick could almost be anybody. Literally Brendan Doggett could get a Test match (inb4 he's injured too)

The latest news I've seen was a hammy during an A game last Nov v India. I haven't heard of any subsequent set backs. So, if the hammy is the only problem he should be good to go. It is a little frustrating that it's hard to find info on him as he's an important player for squad depth.
