Kumble was ranked #40 in our 2024 Bowlers Poll which also included pacers.

Gibbs (34) and Underwood (36) were rated higher while other spinners included Lyon (43),Chandra (51), Bedi (52) and Herath (55).

Previously voted in was Benaud who was only ranked 53 but his all-rounder status and captaincy make him a better inclusion than others.

I think Kumble is better than them all bar Gibbs, and he and Gibbs are close enough for his superior batting to come into play

The thing is Lohmann is a very medium pacer. Feel can have only one of them in a team. So he was competing with Bedser, Tate and now Philander and Fazal. Feel he Philander and Fazal are the 3 best pacers left, but would really have them in 3 separate teams.

I select him as the only one not blinded by Trumper’s aesthetics. ironic, considering he lost his sight (though could still follow a cricket match)
