5th Test (The Oval) - 31st July to 4th August

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
India lost the first test with 5 batsmen getting hundreds , never happened before in history..

Third test they lost with only 193 to get ..

Now they losing failing to defend 350+ for the second time and couldn't bat England out of the game despite England losing Woakes in the match and no Stokes ..

Gambhir should have some pride and step down.
Sure but on paper overall they competed more than they had a right to.

A good hundred from Brook but Ponting is taking the piss saying it's a difficult pitch, it doesn't look that difficult to me, it looks like an ODI pitch now.

U19 Debutant
absurd to say for a bloke averaging near 60, but this feels like a coming of age innings

he's been imperious since that siraj moment
It's a big one as he was averaging about 25 in the 4th innings. To get a ton when chasing a big score (maybe his 1st in the 4th innings) is an important event in his career.

I have a feeling what Brook has achieved in his first 30 odd tests stacks up pretty well against ATG batsmen.
All but Bradman really.

Bradman 3969 @92.30, 15 tons

(Brook 2812 @58.58, 10 tons; at the time of writing)

Lara 2869 @58.55, 6 tons
V Richards 2736 @58.21, 9 tons
Hobbs 2715 @57.64, 6 tons
Hammond 2681 @59.57, 9 tons
Sobers 2636 @59.90, 8 tons
Hutton 2510 @52.29, 7 tons
Tendulkar 1963 @51.65, 7 tons
Ponting 1661 @38.62, 4 tons

There are a handful others who had an exceptional first 30 tests but didn't quite reach the top tier, like Mike Hussey.
