English crowd cheered for Archer in 2019, Australian crowd cheered for Johnson in 2013.
Surely they didn't shout "Kill Kill". And if the English crowd did so while Smith suffered a concussion...... Then I believe you can see how that's a problematic thing, especially after the Hughes incident. I like when bowlers bowl bouncers, I don't like when the motive is to hit the batsman.

It's a sport, the crowd is going to be riled up and behave erratically, you need not let it get into your head.

It's messed up to cheer when someone suffers a concussion imo, especially something like "Kill". I might cheer a bowler to bowl fast, I will never cheer if he strikes a batsman in the head. And that's after the helmets. Only a few years back Contractor almost died when struck by Griffith (CAB Still celebrates Frank Worrell Day on that day each year), and it ended his career.

And crowds being way too erratic can lead to some pretty rash things:

It's from my Home Derby.

As I said, I don't think the Caribbean's bowled full length deliveries the whole Series upto that point. I am all for bowling short stuff and bouncers, but beamers is where I draw the line. It's good to intimidate the batter, it's not to try to make him retire hurt.
Yeah beamers are illegal.

A bouncer that makes a batsman retire hurt is not illegal. It's perfectly legitimate to intend to work towards the latter outcome. It's the risk that the batsman takes on by playing professional cricket.
