    South Africa Domestic Season 2011/12

Ha, me too. Didn't know he was back until I saw this post. Still, he's the third-best ginger Test fast-bowler SA have produced since readmission :)

*Official* Match 21 - England v South Africa

Shocking South African batting, very good English bowling. Swann is awesome.

*Official* Match 21 - England v South Africa

This is the first SA game of this WC I've been able to watch and the first time I've seen Tahir bowl. Prefer van Wyk keeping; it strengthens both the batting and fielding. Tsotsobe has been unlucky not to get a game.

Conditions are so different to the ones the world cup will be played in, so it's difficult to gauge. SA went into the first ODI with a lengthy tail, but on that track it was the right decision. Albie has had more than enough chances, and hasn't delivered. Wish they'd throw Tahir in the team...

It's not raining. I'm about 5km from the ground.

What? Ingram is batting at 3 in place of Kallis. And Miller has been batting at 6.

Is Steyn as deadly as Lillee?

Not sure if I read it on here or another site, but someone brought up the fair-enough question about how Steyn would handle a dip in form or a bad period. He's already done that. AB, Amla and Steyn were brought in in 2005 against England; both Amla and Steyn were dropped after that, both...

Haha, true. And then he bowls sub-medium-pace long-hops.

He has been very disappointing for SA, though continues to deliver domestically. He was supposed to be the new Klusener, but isn't. The side that played the first ODI had a very long tail, but they picked for the conditions, and it paid off. Faf needs a start, good batsman and a better bowler...

Haha. We've mastered the art of the bitter/tragic/stoopid loss. So I'll stick around. As for Albie being left out of the WC squad, I completely agree with the decision. He's appalling with the ball and a rumour with the bat. Edit: Anyone else think cricinfo is in dire need of a sub-editor...

South Africa's 1992 World Cup campaign & Big Mac's claim

I read that article the other day and thought that quote was a bit odd. I saw MacMillan in a bar once, he's seriously large.

So India lost by 135 runs because they lost the toss, in summary? Jaysus.

Nice send off for Ntini. He played a massive role in growing the game in SA.

It was hardly deliberately prepared that way. The low bounce certainly suited the Indian batsmen though.

    Big Indian support in Durban.
