I think you are being harsh on Hanif. Hanif was a very good opener and is usually considered amongst Top-5 Pakistani batsmen along with the likes of Miandad, Younis, Inzy and Yousuf. A very gritty batsman who was a one-man show in batting for Pakistan most of the times during the 50s and 60s...

IMO, Hanif is still fine. He was a very good batsman and is usually considered amongst the Top-5 batsmen Pakistan have produced. Monimul, yeah. But tbh most have a meh/average player in their ranks except a handful maybe. So, yeah.

Having said that, I don't think Andy is at massive disadvantage here like I thought he would be with all this waiting. But having Mahmudullah in the team along with waiting this long gotta sting.

Love the bowling attack because they will all complement each other extremely well. McGrath the lead bowler with Bond as his new ball partner. Well, McGrath is McGrath and in Bond, I have the perfect strike bowler with sheer pace alongside him. And to complement them, a work-horse like Walsh who...

Surprised to see no Asif in here. I know off the field issues played a part but the man was one of the most talented bowlers I have seen.

I would take one of Srinath or Bumrah out for Ashwin or Jadeja. That line-up could use Ashwin's or Jadeja's extra batting and also, 4 seamers in an Indian team feels overkill. Zak is possibly the weakest test bowler out of Kapil, Srinath and Bumrah. But a lefty provides a different dimension...
