    South African Domestic Season 2008/9

My apologies:) The Titans seam attack isn't the best - if you exclude Steyn and the Morkels - and added to that, they struggle to fill the quota of POCs in the team. Imran Tahir doesn't count as one, either. They've got a few talented younger players around. I'm not sure if Matthew Arnold is...

    South African Domestic Season 2008/9

Did you manage to watch the game on television? Rusty Theron was by far the quickest, as he as been all season - according to the speed gun anyway. He was well into the mid-140s. He may have a dodgy action, but he is most definitely not slow.

His finger isn't that badly injured. Only a small tear apparently and he should be fit for the first Test.

    Taibu Quits Zimbabwean Cricket

Boucher is far from finished and he's pretty safe with the gloves. He also adds a huge amount of experience to the side and AB de Villiers can only benefit from having him around, in terms of keeping anyway. de Villiers is a very good keeper, at least from what I've seen of him in the Tests v...

PE can get a bit boring sometimes...unless the cricket swings our way (which it rarely does). I still love the place though ;)

I'm surprised Kyle Mills got off without even a warning after that episode yesterday, while Langeveldt got fined 75% of his match fee AGAIN for failing to appeal in time for a caught behind, even though it was clearly out. Although, on the subject of Mills, I suppose getting creamed all over...

Crossing fingers that Robin Peterson won't play...Johan Botha has only been bowling spin for fifteen months but surely he's the better option? I'm surprised Garnett Kruger wasn't picked. 28 wickets in 3 matches at an average of 14.92 is impressive. I hope he keeps it up and is considered for the...

Brilliant catch by de Villiers though. If he works a bit more on his bowling, he'd be the complete cricketer ;)

The band is just part of the culture of watching cricket in PE. It's part of the reason why the atmosphere was so brilliant. If the New Zealanders don't like it, it's just another problem they'll have to face when they place here. Which would they rather have: a band who might annoy them or a...

I could pass for eighteen probably...but PE isn't such a big place and St. Georges' is a pretty small ground. With my luck I'd probably run into one of my teachers  I also don't trust myself when I'm intoxicated

Cricketers who have excelled at other Sports..

AB de Villiers played off a scratch handicap in golf, was selected to train at the Nick Botterelli tennis academy when he was twelve and played Craven Week rugby for the Blue Bulls. I think I read somewhere that he was also an accomplished swimmer. Herschelle Gibbs was also a very good athlete...

Hersch's a legend. The PE crowd loves him, even when he comes with WP and beats the hell out of the the Warriors. This may have been the only place were AB had stalkers...there were pre-teen girls following him to which ever boundary he fielded on  Can't say I blame them :p

I must've walked past you then...white top, black-and-green bikini, three-quarter jeans, sunglasses, swearing at my cellphone. I was looking for my idiotic little brother, who, it turned out, had snuck up to the Duckpond End and was watching the game in luxury  :p Great atmosphere...
