Worst job in cricket

from being one of the easiest job in cricket the job of third umpire has become the worst that some one can have with the start of new inovations by ICC.

if u r a 3rd umpire u have to watch the monitor which show only a line for 600+ deliveries and call the no ball .i think u will have to require very good concentration to do that job

  1. An all-rounder in the Indian team- you'll always end up a specialist.
  2. A reserve player for Australia- you'll rarely get a game.
  3. Coach of Pakistan- you won't last long.
  4. National Selector in Indian cricket- the captain always overrules you, even if he is wrong.
  5. Muttiah Muralitharan- you have to bowl a lot of overs. A LOT.
  6. Physio/fitness trainer for IND/NZ- please, not another breakdown!
  7. Captain of West Indies- a team that cannot support you, is responsible for experts calling for your removal.
  8. Match referee- you have to read all the paperwork in detail- that job is not a holiday!

Gautam Bhimani, definitely.

From being a genuinely funny guy moving around Australia, he's gone onto pathetically trying-to-be-funny guy for the Shaz and Waz show.

Ah, LOL, we're in the Champs Trophy forum, no need to rant over ESPN's SUCK here.

Anyway, yes, this new introduction is ridiculous.
a) It reduces the crediblity of the on-field umpires
b) It provides more stress on the 3rd umpire

Technology should be utilized where human decisions are not possible, but not otherwise...

Not sure what this tosh is reguarding using the third umpire to call no balls.. All seems a bit pointless to me..

Worst job in cricket? Any umpire!

How about the job of the group who have to keep on adjusting the sightscreens?

Surely the worst job in cricket would have to be Glenn McGrath's sledging scriptwriter.

There are only so many words which start with 'F'.

They shouldn't get the elite umpires to do the no ball thing, there too important. I was watching the aussie usa game and Bucknor is doing it, its a waste of his time

Good one. Not to mention our favourite commentators stuck with MAX- these men do a good job, only in the company of incompetents.

I don't where but i think i heard the same exact comment somewhere . Anyway it is a good point and would make the 3rd ump's position damn boring just having to watch the same thing over and over again

Nope the worse job in cricket is the poor fielder that did nothing wrong and his mean captain forces him to field at short leg.... job gets worse depending on the opposition. (ie USA fielder with Gilly and 6 long hops)

I wouldn't mind being payed to watch cricket, getting one of the best views in the house and pushing a sightscreen up and down at the request of one of my heroes...
