3 wickets in the over, and no runs from it (2 balls left). Great bowling by Oram.

Edit: Aww, now he goes and bowls a wide.

Why is Butler not there, you ask? Because they want to keep the slow bowlers in so they can come out with an awesome run rate. If both Aussie and NZ beat US (which we assume they will) and then end up with their match drawn due to rain, the net run rate will determine who goes through. NZ don't need to take wickets - they just need to keep that run rate as low as possible while still winning.

As for anyone who might mutter that Macca is getting his usual diet against average bowlers - hey, I'm not complaining! Maybe we should use him as a specialist against lesser teams, because he certainly does better than most do against them. :) Just because it's against a crap team doesn't mean 60-odd off 20-odd balls isn't a good show.

Predictable yet solid stuff from New Zealand. Shame Tuffey isn't performing lately, seriously. I don't know why he's even in the team right now, I'd rather Franklin. Ten overs against USA and no wicket is not something to be proud of at all.

Well I for one couldn't have wished for this match to go much better. :)
Fleming the opener and Marshall don't get to inflate their averages, Astle and McMillan belt huge and big unbeaten scores, Astle especially at just the right moment. Harris gets 10 for 29, Cairns gets 5 for 16 (1 wicket).
Shame Vettori got 10-14-3 and Styris got as many as 90, though.
Oh well.

what? you're full of it Richard.
You slam teams like England & NZ for winning yet you praise South Africa despite the fact that they just ended a 10 game losing streak by beating Bangladesh!

Yes, because he thinks that all NZ bowlers are rubbish (remember that their entire attack is worse than the Zimbabwean one) but he thinks some of the South Africans walk on water, so regardless of results, he'll be proven right by games like this one 8-)

Eh?
"Slam X or Y for winning"?
That's ridiculous.
Where have I done that?
And where did I exactly "praise" South Africa for the extraordinary achievement of beating Bangladesh?

Yes, of course, I've said that, haven't I?
I might have said the attack Aakash Chopra scored his runs against was every bit as poor as the Zimbabwe one that Shiv Sundar Das scored even more runs against. Yes, and I haven't changed that view one ayota.
And I think I was very quick to say that the South African bowling-figures should be taken in context of Bangladesh, just hopefully they might be the springboard.
