? Upset on the cards - Early Wobbles for SL .

Net Run Rate must be distraction, much better off concentrating on building an innings rather than being pre-occupied with run rates !!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
3.1 Hondo to Jayasuriya, OUT: gone! Hondo strikes! short of a good
length delivery angling across the left hander, Jayasuriya slashes
at it and ends up with a thick edge straight to Taibu behind the
stumps, big wicket this

Sri Lanka 10/2, Partnership of 6
ST Jayasuriya c Taibu b Hondo 2 (5b 0x4 0x6)
MS Atapattu 0* (11b) DT Hondo 1.1-0-3-1 (2w)

was a thick edge, straightforward catch for the Zimbabwean captain
- Sri Lanka in a spot of bother here

End of over 12 (maiden) Sri Lanka 54/3 (RR: 4.50 RRR: 138/38 = 3.63)
E Chigumbura 1-1-0-1 - Vauxhall End
MS Atapattu 6* (23b 1x4)

11.6 Chigumbura to Jayantha, OUT: got'm! pitched up outside the off
stump, drilled away straight to Dion Ebrahim at extra cover, who
holds on well, sudden end to a promising innings, Chigumbura
strikes in his first over

Sri Lanka 54/3, Partnership of 44
WS Jayantha c Ebrahim b Chigumbura 36 (41b 6x4 0x6)

--------------------------------------------------------------------

SL appear to have well and truly got sucked in to the Net Run Rate theory. :p

36.5 Chigumbura to Jayawardene, OUT: pitched outside the off stump and
angling in, Jayawardene tries to turn it away but fails to make
contact, ball hits the pad plumb in front of the stump, loud
appeal and up goes the finger, this game is not over yet!

Sri Lanka 162/6, Partnership of 21
DPMD Jayawardene lbw b Chigumbura 28 (43b 3x4 0x6)
TM Dilshan 12* (10b 1x4) E Chigumbura 5.5-1-15-3

Chandana is the next man in
----------------------------------------------------------------------

:-O An upset still a possibility !!

The Pakistan v Kenya game has been washed out for the day - yet here I am, 36 miles from Brum and we never saw a drop of rain.
Yeh, but the sun always shines on Derby :p

Eyes not spreadsheets
Well I think a big well done to Elton - only 18, but so far he's shown promise.

9 more and they have a team.

Rainsford's a decent fast-medium too, from what I've gathered...was terribly unlucky not to get a wicket yesterday, I thought.

If they get rid of regular guaranteed failures like Dion Ebrahim and Sibanda :D etc. and get at least two or three of the high scoring rebels back with Streak also returning , they could form a fomidable Team IMO. Ebrahim and the likes don't even seem to be capable of even making a weak first class eleven in most Test playing countries let alone Test elevens. :D

Elton Chigumbura,Hondo, Prosper Utseya, Taibu, Rainsford, Vermulen and to some extent Matskinyeri and Brendon Taylor cab be the base of a good team if they can get at least 3-4 rebels back.(Craig Wishart,Stuart Carlisle,Barney Rogers and Heath Streak)

Formidable team, hmmmmmm....
I'd hate to see any of the rebels return - The ZCU is a disgrace to cricket and it doesn't deserve any favours from good players. They're far better off getting their families out of there and forging a career somewhere else. Good luck to Blignaut and Ervine, who have done so already.

I'll second that, I like the look of him. He looks to have more accuracy than three Panyangaras put together.

Fairly impressive figures, that :)
Shame about the three no-balls, really - would have been even better but for them.

Well, it's not unsuitable in Oz! haha But you can't have it there every year.
It is seriously possible to play cricket in NSW, SA or WA in September?

What is the point?

Three of the same player will have exactly the same accuracy as each other, therefore he will be no more accurate(eg. if one Panyangara bowls two wides an over, they will all bowl two wides an over. etc.)

OK, then, one Panyangara who's three times more accurate.
I'd still reckon Rainsford would be the more accurate bowler.
