Gus Atkinson in the Surrey team? I thought you could only be released to your county team if you haven't played the last 2 Hundred games, he played 3 days ago
Found it:

4.7 A Cricketer may be released by the Hundred Team with which they are registered to play for
the Professional County Club with which they are registered in a specific match in the One-Day
Cup or a second XI competition, or to play for a club in recreational club cricket if:
4.7.1 that Cricketer has a central contract to play for England; or
4.7.2 the Cricketer, the Professional County Club and the Hundred Team with which the
Cricketer is registered have provided written consent for the Cricketer’s release
from the Hundred Team in accordance with Regulation 4.8.
4.8 A Cricketer may be released by their Hundred Team in accordance with Regulation 4.7.2 if:
4.8.1 the Hundred Team is not playing a match on the same day (or any of the same days)
as the match for which the Cricketer is being released;
4.8.2 the Hundred Team has participated in at least two matches in The Hundred prior to
the relevant match for which the Cricketer is being released; and
4.8.3 the Player has not been a nominated player in both of the previous two matches of
the Hundred Team prior to the relevant match for which the Cricketer is being
released,
and provided that they comply with the following requirements:
4.8.4 the Hundred Team have provided the written consents referred to at Regulation
4.7.2 to the ECB;
4.8.5 the ECB has provided written confirmation to the Cricketer, the Professional County
Club and the Hundred Team with which the Cricketer is registered that the release
has been approved;

Just realised doesn't this mean Buttler, Livingstone and Salt were available to play for Lancashire in every Metro Bank Cup game?

Quarter-finals tomorrow, Middlesex vs Hampshire at Radlett (Hampshire are the ‘seeded’ team, why are they on the road? Is it because the Southern Brave are playing at home in the Hundred?) and Somerset vs Gloucestershire at Ciderabad

I played at Radlett's first team ground many moons ago. It was a real recreational friendly and my club are definitely that, but the oppo did have one or two first team players in that. Nice enough ground, I hope that they have the facilities for supporters to make it a nice day out. I don't know what it is like nowadays.

Middlesex have played most of their games there this One Day Cup campaign, it’s a small ground with a hedge just outside the boundary, they’ve lost quite a few balls to that hedge!

That is far more in line with my experience of playing recreational cricket....... I was aware that Middlesex were playing a few games up there with HQ having been unavailable. The Secretary of my club is quite involved in Middlesex cricket in one way and another, both with organisations of local/recreational tournaments and also following Middlesex CCC. Of course, they are trying to develop the Uxbridge Ground, where they have traditionally played many 'outground' games to solve the problem of what to do when HQ isn't available.

Somerset have been excellent all campaign at chipping away and not letting any partnerships get the opposition too far ahead, they'll be happy so far

13 championship games next year?

archive.ph/2025.08.27-172516/https://www.telegraph.co.uk/cricket/2025/08/27/county-cricket-overhaul-plan-clubs-vote-cutting-season-one/

Daniel "Only 12 match options are viable" Gidney will be happy along as there is £1m prize money.

Are the 7 counties who were against the cut to 12 matches authorised by their mambers to vote for 13?
Whatever option they force through it looks like it will be a mess.

I'm just surprised clubs let their members have a vote and a say.
