In this comparison, Tendulkar is the best bat but I think I rate the rest of the Aussie bats higher than their counterparts.

Waugh/Ponting and Dravid have to be pretty equivalent. Tendulkar clearly much superior than the other. Hayden is better than Sehwag, but not significantly so. Less pronounced both strengths and weaknesses in similar conditions. You debated Junior over VVS before in the previous thread, I don't buy it and think it's a pretty clear win. So yeah, Indians are clear for me.

Think Ponting is closer to Tendulkar than he is to Dravid.

Also even without Tendulkar and Ponting, I reckon the Indian trio edges it:
Sehwag < Hayden
Dravid ~ S Waugh
Laxman > M Waugh, and I reckon by a slightly bigger gap than the top comparison

The idea of a tier difference between Laxman and M Waugh is ludicrous. There is no significant advantage in Laxmans record or rep to justify that.

Dravid and Ponting isn’t the comp here

Dravid and Waugh is and Dravid is higher

No justifiable case for Sehwag over Hayden and Laxman well above M Waugh

This one isn’t close

People including the consensus of their peers. Ponting simply has a better record too and was more destructive on top of that.
