Not as much, practically keeping Chandra would probably be more useful than Kumble tbhOk but you are still winning at home with Kumble and one of those two.

If winning away is target then go with Chandra. He won India games in England (whole Series), Australia (2), WI and NZ.Ok but you are still winning at home with Kumble and one of those two.
Give Chandra or Kumble the turners Jadeja got at home and they would have done even better. But Jadeja/Ashwin will win you many more at home
Kumble probably yes, I don't think so for ChandraGive Chandra or Kumble the turners Jadeja got at home and they would have done even better.
I don’t agree.Kumble probably yes, I don't think so for Chandra
Jadeja's style is just much more suited to the turners than Chandra's is. Jadeja is more accurate, slightly higher pace, turns it just enough to get/beat the edge. Chandra's style of leg spin has been historically less successful on these type of pitches. They become much better on flatter wkts, where there isn't much in the pitch to play with, and Chandra could get the extra turn. In India, I'd take jaddu's higher accuracyI don’t agree.
I think he would have wrecked havoc on the turners.
Chandra surely was faster I feel.Jadeja's style is just much more suited to the turners than Chandra's is. Jadeja is more accurate, slightly higher pace, turns it just enough to get/beat the edge. Kumble was worldclass at home. Not as much, practically keeping Chandra would probably be more useful than Kumble tbh
I don't think so, similar at best. Either way, accuracy is the main point.Chandra surely was faster I feel.
Yeah he was, that's why he's better than Chandra overall. But to your point, when you already have 1 one of Jaddu/Ash with Kapil, Bumrah also there, you are going to win most games with either of Kumble/Chandra.Kumble was worldclass at home.
Because my criteria is one side, and Kumble gets you both, I chose himYeah he was, that's why he's better than Chandra overall. But to your point, when you already have 1 one of Jaddu/Ash with Kapil, Bumrah also there, you are going to win most games with either of Kumble/Chandra.
Chandra will win you more games away, if that's what's important.
The basic point is, Jadeja/Ashwin wins you the most games, but the poorest away. Chandra wins you the most away if you want that. Kumble is a mix of both worlds, but not as elite in either case.
I don't think he gets both. He is better than Ashwin away or Chandra at home. But loses out to their strengths too. I don't think he's as good as Ashwin at home as you're suggesting. Thr rank turner point is overplayed imo with Ash/Jaddu at home. The pitches were, for the most part, still quite good in the 2010s, it's really only later on that we start seeing turners on a regular basis.Because my criteria is one side, and Kumble gets you both, I chose him
I also regard Ashwin the best at home. But Kumble is certainly near his level and around Jadeja.I don't think he gets both. He is better than Ashwin away or Chandra at home. And both Ashwin Jadeja (Ashwin especially), was absolutely elite in the 2010s
I never said Kumble isn't elite at home, where did I say that?I also regard Ashwin the best at home. But Kumble is certainly near his level and around Jadeja.
But you were saying Kumble isn't elite at home which is simply not true.
Pitches in the 2000s in India flattened considerably. Do you dispute that?
Before that, Kumble had home numbers up there with Ashwin Jadeja.
You said not as elite which I took to mean you think he isn't in the same tier as them as home.I never said Kumble isn't elite at home, where did I say that?
Not as elite as Ashwin yes. Kumble and Jadeja are at a similar level at homeYou said not as elite which I took to mean you think he isn't in the same tier as them as home.
I don't think the difference between them at home is as notable as away. Not as elite as Ashwin yes. Kumble and Jadeja are at a similar level at home
I'd have to disagreeI don't think the difference between them at home is as notable as away.
The odd game Kumble wins you abroad can mean the difference of an entire series.I'd have to disagree
