Back and forth between Glamorgan and Surrey, heroic knock from Foakes to get Surrey in pole position when the game looked to be edging towards Glamorgan, 8 to win off the last over, Dan Dowthwaite bowls Josh Blake with 4 to win from 4, then bowls 2 consecutive beamers…

Just a quick question. Are there any blokes in this year's one day cup, who have fallen out of favour from the Franchise comp apart from Jake Lintott who was successful in the first year of that?
Probably loads. Matt Parkinson comes immediately to mind, originally a "reserved home favourite player" when the Franchise was first scheduled only to be dumped completely by his franchise and his county - who said they were ever separate.
Douthwaite, Denly, Reece (all year one only) and Simpson like Lintott and Parkinson only played the first two years.

Been replaced by youngsters like Luke Wells (missed the first two pay cheques) and Keaton Jennings (missed the first three).

I guess it must be pretty tough for those who get the gig for a couple of years and then get cut. That was the reason why I asked. I don't follow both comps that intently (not as much as the CC in comparison) and guessed it probably might be a bit of a come down. Parkinson has a perfectly acceptable bowling record in t20s across the piece. I am guessing the franchises want someone more multi-faceted than him?

Not sure it's solely a multi faceted requirement. In Parkinson's case ignoring his fall out of favour at Old Trafford, it would also be affected by the number of international spinners available. They chose Usama Mir over him.

One of the things I find odd in the Hundred is that someone like Kyle Abbott is miles better than some of the overseas bowlers in the tournament.
Yuzvendra Chahal would be a cut above too.
