This is actually the most important post, pretty sure nobody would have predicted this team to win a series in India 3-0

1.Jack Hobbs

8.Allan Knott (WK)
9.Malcolm Marshall
10.Dale Steyn

We can't select SC player in ROW.

I totally forgot about Marshall.

I think you definitely need two spinners.

I am going:

Hobbs
Hayden
Viv
Smith
ABD
Sobers
Gilly
Benaud (c)
Marshall
Steyn
O'Reilly

So I have switched around.

I chose ABD since I think he is more dynamic than Kallis against a bowling attack like this.

Benaud to me is the captain capable of pulling off this series victory. He was also a quality spinner and a good number 8.

O'Reilly is the other spinner who does well against the quality lineups.

Hutton is the first name as an opener, Ramadhim and Valentine, Benaud etc.

I also like the idea of Laker on a lottery pitch.

And no, I'm not trusting even Gilly standing up to Laker and especially O'Reilly.

Gilly did great as keeper in SC. I don't see the issue

Why have two leggies when Laker exists?

Get the ball spinning in both directions.
I am willing to have Laker for O Reilly.

Benaud was a fine spinner but most importantly to win you need a creative genius captain and he is that. Plus a handy no.8 and let's be real these games will requires good late order batting.

O Reilly has to be there imo. He's the best spinner against good players of spin, and the spinner's bowling abilities is the no 1 thing which we shouldn't be compromising on in this team

He was brilliant on flat ass pitches, imagine him on turners. He's a must, and I'll say something no one else agrees with.

The ROW is an even match with that team. The batting is strong with proven performers in the SC and against spin, and a bowling attack of Steyn, Marshall, O'Reilly and Laker at least matches in quality.
