I actually think Taylor was a better batsman than Cook and Lawry, but as an Opener seems fair. Btw, feel Barlow should make this team
Maybe. But what's better, playing a middle order out of position at number 6, who's a bit better than say Lawry/Cook as a batter. But you then lose out on the opening strength, which is more important.
So say Cook + Stokes vs Barlow + Kohli at 6

Lloyd is an extremely fine option at 6 and even provides captaincy perk. Think Barlow+Lloyd is better than Cook+Stokes

Hell yeah, Akhtar didn't play much either.
And when they did Asif's numbers are absolutely elite, Top 10 of all time when you factor in the conditions. That more than compensates the longevity argument.
If you don't want to vote for him for match fixing, it's fair enough. But it isn't a quality issue.
PS: Akhtar admitted to chucking a few times in his career as well so...
